I have been told this is a Nation-wide, 'from the top' drive to employ massive numbers of auxiliary (unpaid, volunteer) CPOs (pretend police with very few actual powers, employed by the council), primarily from the unemployed thousands.
They can only work 15 hours per week, so they keep their benefits.
Nottingham City Council has chosen a local boxer to champion the scheme, which will apparently
"...help prepare them for the modern economy"
I would like to know if anyone has heard of a similar scheme in their area, as I have been lead to believe this is being done nation-wide

Now most of the blogs concerning this are simply moaning about the £32,000 they're paying froch for promotions, voice-overs etc, but is it just me who questions the reasons for using who is essentially a paid thug to publicise/promote this campaign - remember they are targeting a very specific group of people here...
