read some rediculous rumour that dimensional gateways of some form are going to open soon, also called the "9-9-9 Portals"

I can only assume it's a date 9th of September '09.

Anyone else heard of this wierdness and can maybe elaborate?

there is some commonly accepted concepts within the 'new age' thesis that portals or Star Gates are opened where numerical accounts match, ie 1st january, 02 Feb etc. And the more symbic the numerical synthesis, 01 january 2001 / 09 September 2009, then the more potent the Star Gate.

Star Gates are really more about none physical awarenesses, such as emotive, mental and spiritual connections - connecting our consciousnesses to higher vibratary frequencies more than physical gate ways.

I'm not convinced that the gateways will become more physical, i know that is a conception that many hold as we near the point of epoch and the Mayan timeline etc - it is believed that the Star Gates will become more physical as we near 2012, and that the 'Biggie,' due to open on the 21st December 2012 will be a physical doorway to ascension. (Surely ithe 'Biggie' would be due on 12/12/12? - and incidently my eldest daughter will be 21 on the 12/12/12 hehe).

I can't claim to have much knowledge in this area at all,
but seeing how the naming of a day or a month is an entirely arbitrary and human-made concept, I cannot see how a particular naming of a day/month/year could have any significance or relevance to an external cosmic or dimensional event.
Would be interested to hear otherwise though :D

The universe does seem to have an internal clock, of sorts, in that it is very augmented in the way it opperates, to a degree. The lunar cycle for instance, an elipse of 13 orbits etc, and a range that mirrors itself every 18 years (i think it is 18) - that such range repeats itself every 18 years, and that there is a regular 13 month cycle within that exhibits a cyclical attribute that can be logged.

The sun rises and sets in the same place, relatively speaking, according to the day of the year, and the planets, as well as constelations, seem to cycle through their own rhythm which can be mapped and forcasted.

But yeah, our time frame of 12 months to a year is purely fictional by comparrison to the marked understanding we have of the universal clock, the epochial 13 months have been grafted to fit into a 12 month calendar of 365 days, despite the glaring fact that 365 is not divisable by 12 without any left over days, and then the day gets divided again into hours that don't quite fit either...

Hense the good ol leap year.

So our whole concept of understanding is set on rocky foundations to begin with and fails to mirror universal concepts of time and cynchronicity.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened on 08-08-08 last year....as I recall. Nothing is going to happen on 09-09-09. Too much anticipation worldwide (not just us here) tends to fizzle out into nothingness...:p

I do not believe the universe uses the roman calender, personally i watch for natural events like solstices for such events.

On the other hand tptb use dates like 09/09/09 because of the programing already in human minds, also there's the many people who believe so intently that something is going to happen that something does happen.

I'm watching out for 09/09/09 but there's no way i'm going to speculate about it. :D

09-09-09 can be anything you want it to be. As for 08-08-08. A lot of happened like any other day. But like every day in life it is special. You now take some responsibility to make 09-09-09 special, and stop been so bloody conformist.

I could be mistaken but did'nt Russia hit back at Giorgia over the Ossetia campaign, on August 8th 2008. Giorgia were definetly involved in a short conflict on that date.
