I want to make a forum to put all the info I've accumulated throughout the years...

It would make quite a good source of information in a very different angle to anything out there I've seen...

Are there any ways to create a free forum to add info?

yep there are quite a few free forum providers (search free forum in google)

just gotta get ppl to join....

what type of info were you thinking of making it about?

It has to be installed on a server,but is great once you have set it up.

Alternativley there are ones you can use that are allready hosted,i used to make them with a site called invisionfree;

i just want to have a place where I can write down all the info in my head and discern it away from all the bs everywhere else, I'm not very bothered about making it popular, I'd rather have people just read it but also be free to add to it if they aren't completely stupid.

I don't think you want a forum for that. Maybe a wiki.

I think the blog idea is great, that way you could write mini articles, people can comment on your blog posts so you still get a bit of a discussion going. Also maybe just start your own site and put articles on there, link it to your blog.

There are plenty of freebies online regarding forums and there members of this forum who do webmaster type stuff who can give you tips and advice :)

I absolutely agree.

Alternatively, you could also check out www.ning.com , which is mentioned in the first reply. It's a system where you can write posts and create your own groups (similarly to the Facebook concept).

I'd start a wordpress blog - there are millions of free hosts - or you could use a blogger/blogspot account.
