Noael Gallagher has left Oasis.
A very sad day indeed for me.
One of my favourite bands of all time, their songs were an inspiration to me growing up, and I have a lot of time for Noel gallagher.
Shoots from the hip and is a straight up bloke with no shit in him.
He attended one of David's talks last year in Brixton..
A sad day for music.
One of the finest poets/songwriters of a generation.
Hope he continues on his own.

Knew it was coming though, been keeping a eye on what Noel and Liam have been saying online and they really do not fucking like each other anymore. Once I heard Liam has never seen Noel's kid, and the kid is 18 month old. I thought it wouldn't be long until they broke up.


Hope they both go on to do some good solo stuff, and hopefully they can sort their differences out.

Noel seems to have his head more screwed on these days and will have a good solo career whether it is writing or performing.

Liam is just a nut job who would be signing up for a weekly giro if it wasnt for his voice and the rest of the band.

They were huge here in the US in the mid 90's, when I was 13 and they were my favorite band. I used to be so in love with Liam and his unibrow. Then they released their 3rd album, which I was so eager for and bought right away but was disappointed with. Then they seemed to drop of the face of the earth here, compared to how popular they were before that. I know they've released a lot more albums since but they have been pretty much invisible here since then, onces that we really good and well received my critics. I wonder why then they never made a comeback here? Did they stay uber popular in Britain? Many other British bands are successful are and stay so for years (Coldplay, Radiohead, all the Classic Rock bands, etc.)

First off I'd better say that I like Oasis, or more precisely that I like some of their songs, the 'current' tour wasn't getting the best of receptions tho' was it? So cynical old me can't help but entertain the possibility that this is just another one of their stunts, the same old tired stuff that's used to manipulate the emotions of fans that has been used over and over by the twats that control the music industry.

One of the biggest tools to control minds that they ever invented was the 'pop chart', this idea changed peoples conception of music from 'something we enjoy listening to', into, 'a competition'. Very much the same technique that was used to mind control the majority of football fans into believing their chosen pastime(watching twenty blokes kicking a ball around) is more important than life or death!
Suddenly it was more important to have chosen the 'right' side to take, Beatle or ' Stone, Mod or Rocker, Oasis or Blur, instead of just being allowed to listen to whatever you felt like at the time, you (we) succumb to the programming and make our choices based on what others tell us is ok instead of listening to whatever is inside us and listening to the sound of our own heartstrings!

Putting these idols on such high pedestals we shouldn't be surprised (least of all offended) when someone tries to knock them off to get their own flavour of the month up there to gain all that attention,

First off I'd better say that I like Oasis, or more precisely that I like some of their songs, the 'current' tour wasn't getting the best of receptions tho' was it? So cynical old me can't help but entertain the possibility that this is just another one of their stunts, the same old tired stuff that's used to manipulate the emotions of fans that has been used over and over by the twats that control the music industry.

One of the biggest tools to control minds that they ever invented was the 'pop chart', this idea changed peoples conception of music from 'something we enjoy listening to', into, 'a competition'. Very much the same technique that was used to mind control the majority of football fans into believing their chosen pastime(watching twenty blokes kicking a ball around) is more important than life or death!
Suddenly it was more important to have chosen the 'right' side to take, Beatle or ' Stone, Mod or Rocker, Oasis or Blur, instead of just being allowed to listen to whatever you felt like at the time, you (we) succumb to the programming and make our choices based on what others tell us is ok instead of listening to whatever is inside us and listening to the sound of our own heartstrings!

Putting these idols on such high pedestals we shouldn't be surprised (least of all offended) when someone tries to knock them off to get their own flavour of the month up there to gain all that attention,

Like I said you are a clueless fuck... Jimmy Page great guitarist, Noel keeps it simple and likes it that way, but he is still a very good rhythm guitarist and even though his solo's are on the simple side they are still very melodic.

As for Song writing, I think Oasis have far more better well written tunes than Zeps. But that's my opinion. Led Zep were great musicians though, and did have their own unique sound, but so did Oasis when they come out.

Also, how the fuck do you explain a whole generation not hearing a guitar ?? 80's were shite but there were still a lot of very good guitar bands about. So I don't know how the fuck you come to that conclusion.
