Has anyone else noticed that between songs on Radio 1 all you ever seem to hear is Twitter, Twitter, Twitter from the presenters.
Go on Twitter everybody and let us all know what your up to so when we bring in the fully fledged Police State it be what your used to.

I don't think it's as much about the state knowing what you do (heavily doubt they'd ever rely on something like twitter for that) as much as it is densensitising people to privacy and doing things for societal acceptance/approval more than doing things for real reasons.

Op, yaeh i have noticed this too. I used to listen to Chris Moyles on the way to work, and he was forever banging on about twitter.
He used to bang on about big brother, and i used to get so tired of hearing it.
I have kinda switched off from the radio thing because of it, i see it as just as much a part of furthering the no-think agenda as the tv now, all they seem to want to do is wrap their listeners into the same bullshit, switch them off and nullify their sense of being with nothingness, it is pathetic realy.
the irony of the jingle 'Wake up with moyles, drive home with Mills,' really rings true when you consider that waking up to the agenda is actually switching radio one off.
i used to really enjoy listening to Chris, but just lately i've seen him as just another pawn in the game of huge corporate mindwash whose agenda is to close our senses down to reality in favour of condensed rationalisation and acceptablity.
The pop culture is in its death thows, the whole ethos of 'we'll talk about this because it is popular, and in talking about it we'll make it popular,' is now a see through facade.
Big brother is a fail, it is only a matter of time now before people begin to see that those appologists for a failing culture are no longer worth what we once believed.
there was a speel in GTA San Andreas, i think, on one of the radio shows, where they said, 'its only number one for as long as we say it is,' and i think that that rings true with culture being brainwashed into believeing what the tv / radio says.
I hear them sayin twitter is the new god, be a part of it or be irrelevant...' And people buy into it.
i have absolutely no cencept of what twitter is, it isn't a part of my reality. I asked my daughter who is 15 if she was on it and she kinda looked at me with an expression that suggested i had insulted her inteliogence and said 'i have never been on it and i will never go on it.' Says it all really
:D
Anyway, that's todays little rant ouit the way

What i do know is that here, the leader fookin loves twitter, loves pimping twitter, loves posting on twitter, (or thats probly his servants and PR doing it for him and he acts like he does it himself, but anyway you get the point) and he is about as cyan ist joo puppet as you can get.
In fact if you look at his page right now, he is rambling on about what a great man the late Edward Kennedy was, and more about pimping the bicycle race - the tour down under, whose street circuit infastructure is run by his puppetmasters, and of course some tweets (or is that twits) about the military industrial complex, or as he likes to call it, defense.
http://twitter.com/premiermikerann
So yeah, expect plenty more pimping of twitter by the elites coming to a brainwashing MSM outlet near you.

I posted this link - Twitter and the New World (http://www.dailypaul.com/node/91799) Order in this thread (http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69466) a while ago.
Twitter has no advertisers, and doesn't charge a fee to use the service. Who pays for it and why?

I don't mean to be dense but can someone please explain why people bother with twitter and what possible benefit there is.
My dad loves it, whenever I see him he is getting out his iphone and tweeting and all that malarky.
I got an account but I don't understand it!

i know what you mean, i have an account, but couldn't even figure out how to send a message! so i gave up. seems all you can do is read what jeb-ends are thinking. it's basically the status update section of facebook. so i may just continue to use that instead.

Twitter is being pimped as the OC ring have infiltrated the bbc well they were MI18 or something. Just they never disbanded, instead they went off book. Bunch of grifters now who also work with the other Mi that was meant to be disbanded in the post office but instead became the IB.

twatter is absolutly shit. its just people subscribing to celebritys to find out what there doing at any given moment.
paris hilton "hi im going shopping with daddys credit card again today
im so cool"!!
amy winehouse "just shot up again wont be available for the next 5 hours as ill
be squirming on the floor" "do you think i look like a horse"?
people updating there status every two minutes its awful its just perpetuating the idea that knowing what everyone else is doing is good and privacy isnt!!

I like the concept of status updates, its nice to know that friends who you cant always be in contact with are ok,and if they have been up to anything interesting latley.
It is also good for event promotions, when we did k-fest we set up a twitter and tweeted about what was giong on behind the scenes in the run up to it all.
Some people use it to follow thier favourate celebs, but not everyone.

Phew, thank Gawd I'm not the only one who doesn't see the point or the need for Twitter. Seems like a bunch of twits use it!
The Israelis tried to tell us that twitter was used all the time in the so-called, Soros funded, Mossad led uprising in Iran rcently. Of course it was Mossad sending out all the tweets, or whatever they are called.
How can anyone with a brain listen to the jerks on radio one? I listen to classic fm and that's it! Not even radio 4.
I don't watch tv anymore. Who else here has given up on their tellys?
I just don't want these morons and propagandists in my space anymore.
I never thought about it before but yes......Amy Whinehouse does look like a horse!

Twitter is the civilian equivalent of MPs on message.
Not content with driving the message home while you watch TV, listen to the radio or ingest billboard advertising. They now want you 24hrs a day at work, rest or play.
They can even profile users, due to who they subscribe to or interact with. The party line can be tweaked to suit the intended victim. They can direct peoples thinking and creating a collective mind.
No doubt in the future the tweets, will tell you when to be happy, when to take your euphoria pill, what to eat and when. If you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, they will redirect you to the correct square on the grid, administer the penalty notice and collect the fine. All this achieved through a handy pocket sized, human resource remote interface (mobile phone), directly liked to the system.
We will suck it up, will never have had it so good!

Im just keeping 'with the times'. The fact is things like this are amazingly popular, wether you like it or not. And its going to play a huge part in the future of online media.Nobody is forcing you to use these sites. I said tweeted because that is the "politically correct term" for sharing a status update on twitter.

Yeah, I have noticed this. And it annoys me! I think that it is stupid and ridiculous for someone to waste so much time on twitter.
Another thing that annoys me is when people have to constantly check their cell phones.
We are truly entering into an era in which we will rely on technology too much, as well as be more controlled. I guess that we are going to be made into half robots and be automatic for our little puppeteer controllers.
We will see.
I want to say one thing though: we may have lost the fight in the physical world, but we still have a chance to win in the spiritual.

Twitter is only a reflection of our society in general, where people escape their own trivial lives by obsessing over the trivial things other people are doing. "Hey, I just picked my nose!" It's a lot easier than actually thinking about the important things in life, like how we get our countries back. But I digress...

Twitter, pop music, video games, heck even internet forums reduce the attention span of those who use them.

Idnk, I have been wondering whether twitter, facebook and other internet social networking sites are a way of introducing a sort of "hive mind" so wee end up like borg type worker drones.
However, I like the fact that on the internet I can keep in communication with friends in other places without the cost and commitment of having to phone, we can all know what each other is thinking and doing and that is great. I know my friend who lives next door but one to my parents is making chutney today, and I like that.
However, is this just conditioning us to have our lives and thoughts made public, to accept that they are no longer our own. When you think about all the hate speach legislation this is where it gets kinds worrying.
We then all have to stick to broadcasting our more inane and trite sentiments. Maybe this trend will continue untill people have forgotten how to express anything else.
Thank god this forum isn't like this, there are some trolls, nutters and all that, but that is part of life and a sign that people are still clinging to their individuality and expressing themselves - even if other people dont like it.
Maybe I have been watching the prisoner too much and I am becoming unmutual :)

One reason these sites like twitter are springing up and are so popular is because our socially-controlled school systems are producing a bunch of narcissists who think that every little thing they do is so important that the entire world should know and care. Gone are the days of getting a gold star for doing good. Now, every kid gets one because every kid is "special". We wouldn't want to award gold stars discriminantly to the A and B students and hurt the self esteem of the C, D, and F students now would we?
