A tale of hope:)
It all started in January of this year, my sisters little boy (5yr) suddenly went all jaundice. To cut a long story short, he had a seemingly harmless throat infection which then attacked his liver. He was admitted to the Kings College hospital in London for test etc. His clotting count got to the stage where he needed a liver transplant, he was on the donor list. The doctors said he had gone past the 'point of no return' for his liver to regenerate itself, which is the only organ that can do this.
A few weeks into the hospital stay, they got a donor liver, it was touch and go if they would use it, but at the last minute the doctors decided to hold off the transplant as his clotting count had stabilized. Everyday that passed he started to get better, now he is fine.:) The doctors have said his liver shouldn't have repaired itself, so a miracle did happen.............:)
The upside to all this, is that it brought me closer to my sister.
