my dad used to always say a little silly poem about jesus, but i could never figure out what it really meant. it seems to figure off in different directions...
roses are reddish,
and violets are blueish,
if it weren't for jesus,
we'd all be jewish.

From what I can gather its a Benny Hill (the british comedian) quote except its "if it weren't for Christmas we'd all be jewish", which is probably some humour that people will be christian to get a Christmas holiday or something.
