It's a mistake to ask people on here how to be healthy. Since everyone is a self-professed expert, they'll jump at the opportunity. The fact of the matter is that less than 1% of people actually know what they're talking about in regards to health, and most of that 1% are alternative doctors and medicine men and such.
Unless you suffer from a specific disease, the best detox is to go exercise, eat plenty of vegetables and a balanced diet. Attempting to pick random detox methods like liver flushing, bowel cleanses and such can do more harm than good. It's a gamble. Generally herbs are safe however, but shouldn't be taken more than 2 weeks at one time.
The truth is that there is too much to learn to know what you're doing. I've been researching health for the past 13 years, and although I've learned a lot, I now realise clearly that humans understand the human brain/immune system/body a fraction that we think we do. Alternative doctors pretend they know what they're doing, but they only have a general idea. It's the persons mental attitude, diet change and exercise that cure. And who's to say that it isn't just mental attitude that cures?
Just focus on the basics. If you can't do that because you're lazy, that's your problem.

I've read lots of articles talking about how detoxing using brand stuff like that doesn't make a difference.
I normally find a week or so of only drinking water and green tea, and only eating non processed, unrefined food does the trick. I think it's more about long term, rather than short term fixes anyway. Oh, but colonic irrigation is meant to be a good way to start any detox...I've never had the courage to get one done, I feel sick at the thought.

Believe me I tried all the major brands on the market, and Colonix, from Drnatura , does what it promises, it works, and if for any reason, it does not work for you, you have the option of getting back your money, as promised, by the company. As it is, now you can also order it in England, without a hassle, www.drnatura.co.uk

Something else that would work is an Infrared Sauna. It helps to sweat out the toxins, causes the blood to flow and even helps to lose weight (about 300 calories per half hour). Ebay has portable ones, and I suggest it would be best to get the one with a stool. Infrared is used in incubators in hospitals.

Yes!...it ain't cheap...but it works!!! I haveb't used enough of the toxinout to know if it works but the Colonix definitely does. You may not get as much weird shit....literally!....as some of the testimonials but will probably get some. And if you are not already a regular pooper be prepared to become one. And the "one wipe" side effect is nice too. More energy and much less bloated feelings as well. Read lots of those stories on the page...there's thousands!! Much more than any other product..... clon cleansing or otherwise. Very highly recommended !!!:D

Thanks for you reply; funnily enough I am involved in the well being/fitness/nutrition industry, so to be honest I already have a very good knowledge of standard exercise and nutrition. I believe in natural therapies, and they are needed in this case in my opinion. So my question wasn't really, 'do these herb detoxes work', but 'DOES THIS BRAND' work specifically..... I am very much an advocate of alternative health; there is a big reason why DETOX gets a bad wrap in the media, and you can guess why....a big list! I really don't mean to be flippant, but what you say about 'random methods' could be applied to pharmaceutical drugs too!
This Dextox is not for me - it is for someone who has lived a pretty lavish and stressful lifestyle for 20-30 years and they are finally in a state of mind and body to actually want and in my book need a genuine detox (in association of course, with good basic nutrition and exercise as you say).
Thanks for the other replies...that's what I was looking for. :)

My wife's oncologist is very clever. One of the things he does regularly is to do a weekend of just eating oranges and drinking water and orange juice. Every time you get hungry, eat an orange.
I've done it a few times personally and it really does give you a lift.
As for doing a colonic thing. If you have to do it, make sure you take plenty of pro and pre-biotics afterwards.
