ok.. so you cant run 100m in 2 seconds... so whats the fastest you can run it.. must be a cut off point where you just cant run it any faster... that shit racks my mind!!!!

According to modern physics, the speed of light.

I just did it instantly in my mind. Maybe faster than the speed of light!

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
It really is fucking awesome.
Usain is at least 2-3 inches taller than some of the runners. Length of legs does matter.
I would say, the longer a persons leg (height) and the more muscular they are, the further they can push the limit...
I think Asafa Powell is a good example of height and muscularity giving a huge advantage.

I would suppose the fastest a human will ever run the 100 m is in 8.8 seconds.
That will be sometime in the year 2053. :p Maybe.
According to modern physics, the speed of light.
But, the human body would shatter into a million pieces instantly!
Worth it for the world record I would say.

I think when people start to eat properly (even almost all athletes eat like shit), not get shot up with all kinds of crap and posture will be emphasised in our society, we will see many records being broken.

I remember watching a discovery channel documentary talking about as you approach the speed of light, time will slow down until you reach it where time will stand still.

So then you could just walk the rest as time has stopped yes? :)

well I doubt any of the guys competing in this specific event "eat like shit" but they've likely been taught disinfo or learnt disinfo themselves (like for example there are probably still tonnes of athletes who eat soya products etc.!)

By 2050 people will be able to jump that far so it depends on angle of jump;45 degrees probably being ideal.
No, hang on,thats not running....maybe 3 or 4 paces then one big one would count.
I think as well as drugs tests there should be genes testing,I mean it is probably possible to put the odd chromosome from a kangaroo or an ostrich in to someone like Bolt which means strictly speaking hes not human.
And what about the lizards, they cant half go !!!!

I would then ask you to watch the womans 100m final. As the shortest competitor was the winner. I think it is more to do with the golden ratio and bone elasticity. Oh and a helping of the Universes power and influence.

Maybe it will change when they start using the beeps like in swimming.

I predict that pretty soon a lot of us will be running much faster than this...
...all at once.

Yeah I was just going to say. These athletes are paid to eat flawlessly and train flawlessly, and if they don't, they are liable to lose everything.

I don't think 9.20 seconds will ever be broken for 100m. On the 200m i'm not even sure Bolt will beat his own 19.30 seconds in this championships. He ran hard in Beijing and it was a fast track too. Also, he really wanted Johnson's record. I'll stick my neck on the line and say he definitely won't go sub 19.20 seconds. I think he will run between 19.25 seconds and 19.35 seconds, probably closer to the latter. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

My sister is big on athletics and on asking her why Jamaicans are so fast she replied its their national sport
I whish he grew up liking rugby league rather than football and cricket because I’d love to see him on a rugby pitch. Anything has to be better than Dwain Chambers efforts for Castelford :p

I thought this was going to be a post regarding Usain Bolt and exactly why this guy is so fast. He seems so good it's hard to fathom without being skeptical. I find it incredible that someone can 100% smash previous records set by people using steroids, and still seemingly be running within himself. Are we looking at genetic engineering/gene doping, or are the Annuaki back in town :D

According to modern physics, the speed of light.
since the runner starts from a non moving position they would have to accelerate to the speed of light and obviously brake quite hard once they had crossed the finishing line... thus i conclude the distance they actually would have to physically run would be about a nanometre aka stick one leg out accelerating at the speed of light, lift the other leg off the ground whilst decelerating the first leg. the force of your first leg moving so fast would drag the rest of your body with it, or completely snap off. however the latter is not an issue as your spontaneously amputated leg would fly way past the finish line. which begs the question when the starting pistol goes off why don't athletes just chop one of their limbs off, stick it in a catapult then fire it towards the finishing line?

An amazing run; and he made it look so effortless as if there was more to come.
What struck me was the speed with which he took his strides. He has a longish stride, but the way he was pumping his legs was unreal.
I definitely think that 9 seconds will be beaten one day...

Seconded :D
I remember thinking about this when I was a kid and the whole family was around the telly watching the Olympics..... I suppose they'll just gradually get a bit faster like they have been doing. There must be such a build up of toxins in our systems by now that its a wonder any of us can even get out of bed.

My first impression of Bolt (besides having a lack of humility) was that he had to have doped. But I have watched that video a few times and I believe the man is just physically gifted. His body is way more designed to run fast than his competitors bodies are even tho they are great athletes in their own right.
One more thing. It is obvious from the video that he could have gone lower than 9.58 if he had needed to.

I heard that it is physically impossible for anyone to run under 10 secs unless they're using some sort of enhancement. Don't know if it's true or if there is some sort of general validity to that.

Ok I hadn't mentioned this yet as I wanted to see if anyone else thought the same as me. In the build up to the race. He was being his usual arrogant boastful self. Which people can understand to a certain degree. Well I was getting pissed with his constant superior attitude. I said that it would teach him a lession in humility if he was to be disqualified or something. I kept thinking to myself now that the Universe/God should teach him a lesson. As he is getting a real big head about his greatness. Then just before the race starts he says his prayer. Anyway with that he only goes and has his first ever false start! I think that the universe was listening to me and it was only the prayer and thanks that saved him from going the same way as the British runner in the qualifying sessions. Also as a child I had asked for someone called Usain Bolt to win in Berlin in a time of 9.58 (95.8 capital FM) with Gay Tyson coming behind him. I think that is why Tyson is always so twitchy when you see him. This last bit could just be all a part fo some false memory during NLP sessions with a former DJ. I know that he ran quick and they would know what his best time was. Would it of been possible for them to fix the clock for him to win in a time of 9.58. More and more of these things are coming true. I still am not 100% convinced that I am not being conned due to the implant that I believe I received back in 2001 in Nuremberg Germany. If implants are a reality that means that freewill is a non starter.

According to google, the speed of nerve impulse to muscles is 119 m/s.
So a man with 100 meter long legs, assuming his muscles were able to move his leg instantly across the line, would take around 0.9 seconds between hearing the starting pistol fire and sending the information to his legs to move.
I think that would be the fastest time possible, drug free, with the ability to cross the line in a nerve impulse.
But your question to what is the fastest time in the real world.. I think we're at about the limit really. These athletes train constantly and without evolving our bodies quite drastically, it will only be beaten by milliseconds.

When Bolt appeared on Top Gear - he mentioned that 2 or 3 hours before the Olympic race that he ate takeaway CHICKEN NUGGETS.
And after he won the gold medal AND broke the then world record - he had some more.
Not exactly the Breakfast of Champions.....or is it?

There's that mention of 2 or 3 again. Oh why is my life experience so strange. I keep thinking that i have really been brainwashed with some very long con of the Illuminati's. There was so many people in those mass NLP sessions.
Chicken nuggets. I bet they weren't from McD's. Or maybe that explains why hamburgler could run so fast :D

Beg to differ, they eat like shit.

That goes without saying. However all of the people in that race would be doped and it's not like the more the better, the record still is still legitimate, the guy still ran that fast.
