Thanks for the links steevo. Sitting by the lake in Kashmir in 1966 must have been quite a magical time I reckon! The 'Chants of India' album is, as George suggests, something of the spirit. I have a few tracks on my 'uplifting' playlist that I listen to most mornings, "Shanti Mantra (Reprise)" in particular is truly sublime.

Man, I loved Harrison. Thanks for posting those vids.

Although I wasn't even born when he started his rise to fame... it was his period after being with the Beatles that I most admire.

He really did take his vedic spiritualism seriously and is responsible for introducing many people to the fruits of eastern philosophy and music.

Ravi was probably trying hard not to get pissed off at him. He said his own teacher was extremely strict. If he had to repeat something he would get irate.

Even at the height of the Beatles madness, on what was the biggest selling album ever from the most popular band ever he still managed to write this song!

We were talking
about the space between us all
and people who hide themselves
behind a wall of illusion
never glimpse the truth
then it's far too late
when they pass away

We were talking
about the love we all could share
When we find it
to try our best to hold it there
with our love, with our love
we could save the world
if they only knew

Try to realize it's all within yourself
no one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small
and life flows on within you and without you

We were talking
about the love that's gone so cold
and the people who gain the world
and lose their soul
They don't know, they can't see
Are you one of them

When you've seen beyond yourself
then you may find
peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come
when you see we're all one
and life flows on within you and without you

Bless you George!
