I'm curious to learn if anyone has noticed any peculiar similarities between the Christian eschatology and the current state of world affairs.

For instance, I was skimming through Revelations while sitting on the toilet, and was considering possible interpretations of Chapter 11, and I'm convinced it's a self-fulfilling circumstance. It speaks of "two witnesses", and it's an eerie description of the pre-9/11 World Trade Center in New York City.

I realize the apocalyptic books are designed to have multiple interpretations/contexts, that they're very dreamlike thoughtforms and patterns generally, and that it's kind of a neat way to trick a fool into believing it's all real when they see all the "signs" coming true. In this way, the "Christ" is like the asymptote the demagogues (Bush/Obama) would approximate as part of the illusion to gain follower, where the "believers" have a convenient excuse to claim the Fearless Leader is anti-Christ acting like Satan trying to pretend to be God, and that leaves them vulerable to the next Fearless Leader to come along.

Considering how the former Bush administration invoked a great deal of New Testiment sounding memes in his rhetoric, and the parallels between that and the policy and actions of his government, I'm wondering if anyone has an insight or theory about what the self-fulfilling prophesy/script has in store for the Obama administration.

Also, has anyone ever considered the "Helter Skelter" scenerio described by Charles Manson?

Well in my opinion it's all about birth pangs.:D Two things are impregnated, reality and illusion. They start off not being very strong pangs, but like a real birth the pangs get more intense as it gets close to giving actual birth. Whatever the powers of illusion are going to hatch will be dispersed when reality sets its eyes on it, like the candle in the dark analogy.

Having said that, I think Obama is going to get "taken out".:)

As the earth is a living thing, it does react with weather changes and earthquakes when it isn't "happy" with the illusion taking place on her.
Unless the trend is stopped, it is possible to read the signs without having to be a prophet. Personally I'm an eternal optimist.

But brace yerself Sheilas for a pretty rocky ride the next few years. 2011-ish is going to be the worst time ever experience by man, IMO.

I usually do the same. You got to get the pages with the right texture or what you'll just succeed in doing is smearing it around.

Tannah, why do you think Obama will be taken out ?
Is "The mark of the beast" the micro-chip...remembering that every barcode has 3 X 6,s in it,one at each end and one in the middle.
Is "The 1st horseman on the white horse sent forth to conquer the world" the USA and its "good news, save the world" president ?
If you are intereasted in eschatology then Prophecynewswatch.com makes very, very interesting reading.
