So
Experian has a 'front' company called RKI here in Denmark. It turns out that a company I have no contract with has provided my information to Experian and this is the letter I've quickly drafted to send (I can't read or write Danish and have taken a lot of V from FMOTL.com's good material, bless her!):

Notice of Nonconsent

To:
Experian A/S
Kritianiagade 9
2100 Kbh. Ø

Dear Sirs,

I DO NOT give you permission to interfere in my commercial affairs as you have no legal standing. I do not have a contract with you nor do I have a contract with any client of yours and any permission that you believe you may have from me is hereby withdrawn. Any consent that you believe you may have, tacit or otherwise, is hereby withdrawn.

You do not, nor have you ever had, my permission to use or process my personal data in any way and I hereby demand that you cease use of any and all data with regard to me, and that you immediately destroy all of my data held on your records. Failure to do so will result in a report being submitted to The Danish Data Protection Agency.

You will be deemed to have been served notice of my request and I will deem it served three (3) days from the date of this letter. I am advising you that any communications from you including but not limited to letters and phone calls received after this date will be recorded/noted with the intention of them being used as evidence.

It's the credit reference agency that the banks and others run to, to see if you (your person) is good at making repayments on any credit given.

What rosix is saying is that no permission was ever given to experian to allow them to share this information.

Yes they do, they bought (OWN) it..
The PERSON information is what they hold..
Not the information about YOU, Your Self, the Free You.
All they do is search the Company(Person) you.
That right was given to them when you first had your Birth registered.

I am saying they are using information that was illegally provided to them by their 'client'

The exact same situation would be if:

I owned a company and went to Experian and provided them with 'info' that Tony Blair had an outstanding debt with me. I'm pretty sure that in this scenario I would be arrested or some shit :D so why don't Experian's client here be treated likewise?

If I'm not mistaken, a company like Experian has been convicted for libel in the past for something like this..

They can't collect a debt on behalf of somebody else because it's not their debt to collect. Ask them to provide proof of the debt and contract between you.

yea I know, thanks anyways, but these guys don't try and do any collecting, it's more affecting my chances of taking a mortgage out etc.
