The Shadow Spirit

Hi All,

Has anyone encountered the shadow spirit during an OBE?

I was rudely introduced to one when I was 14 yrs old, during my first understood OBE, the usual happened, I awoke, thought I was 'really' awake except for the paralysis and 'knowing' that something was holding me down by the throat, also, my sensory system was in overdrive, like every nerve in my body was heightened to an unbearable pitch, I could hear my breathing getting shallower and shallower the heart beat slower then WHAM, I fell out of bed, except I'd fallen out of my body.....I remember all the usual thoughts like 'oh my god, I'm not physical anymore, yet I was essentially the same, with the same feelings, mentality etc' yet everything felt like slowmotion. I tried to speak, yet all that came out was this awful growl. I managed to get to the hallway and it was here I knew something was really really wrong.

I was 'shouting/growling' for my step-dad which even when I was doing it I remember thinking WTF, because A. I never call him for help, ever and B. He wouldn't help even if he could, and it was at this moment I saw this thing that can only be described as soot, a huge black shadow came out of my parents room, raced along the walls into my bedroom. This thing that I can only descrbe as whirlwind then appeared at my bedroom door and began to suck me in, it was at this point I had the awful thought that if I didn't wake up I may never wake up again and I'm not sure what happened next except I felt myself gasp for air and I woke up in my body.

Now here's the really weird thing. My Mum had woken up while all this was taking place with a sense that something was wrong, she actually saw the shadow racing out of her room as I was astrally viewing it....needless to say she came running into my room, worried sick.
This happened quite a bit to me as a teenager, but as an adult it's happened twice, once when I had moved to scotland, and the other in tintagel.
These were empowering experiences because i fought back and overcame them with the help of a higher power.

The Tintagel experience was really something else though. Mum and I (again) were in a hotel, sharing a room, and I awoke (again) to see this shadow spirit 'standing' over me, a struggle ensued (by this point I was able call for spiritual help during these attacks) but instead I found myself split in two, I was above myself, looking down on 'me' on the bed fighting the shadow, then I found myself split again (now into three) I was stood in the corner of the room, observing myself above myself on the bed fighting the shadow. Now the observer aspect is the only experience I remember, the feeling of utter peace and calm, a knowing that nothing would harm me, it was only when I saw mum waking up and shaking me did I snap back into physicality.

Now I'm not 100% sure on what they are, maybe they are part of the incubus family (because sexual energy was being drained from me during a few of this experiences) Maybe they are lower plain beings who want to possess (this theory derives from the first experience, my oldman is a grand-master and nasty piece of work, and I attributed the first shadow to him) They like the sacrel charaka alot, it's seems to be their first port of call, does anyone have knowledge or experiences of the shadow spirit??

PS.... They bloody hate the light btw, so if anyone has been psychically attacked by them remember to call on the light to protect you, it does and it will.

Could well be an incubus which is a male spirit, a succubus is female spirirt. There is an old saying ( ridden by a hag ) which is when a shadow or spirit, not always visible but felt like a great weight on top of the victim who is usually alone, alseep, just waking, dreaming etc. I've had this happen, Woke up paralysed, heavy weight on chest and I couldn't move for what seemed like almost a minute, I tried to call out for help but no words came out my mouth, freaked me out. I sensed a presence which seemed to fly away through an open window. Only then could I get up and move.

Other times I've seen shadows float towards me and it has felt as if they are trying to get inside my body ( posession ) Electrical shocks, pins and needles, feelings in various chakra regions. Then being awoken by hands or something touching me.

If they feed off fear, they'll come back again, I've seen more than one appear whilst scared. You have to belive you have authority over them what ever they are.

Yes I agree, these shadow spirits do feed off fear. Is this why, I wonder, society is saturated by fear from media and the gov? Do these shadows 'work' for the dark ones in power? They kinda remind me of the dementors in the pothead books...sorry potter books(:D).

I wonder if they serve the dark sides agenda? By locking people into the lower chakras they can manipulate intuition and cut off energy to and from the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras hence cutting off our higherself??

i remember something like that happening twice.

You wake up - and it's as if something is on top of your chest...

For some reason, I remember saying, for some reason - I don't
know why? LIGHT! Let there be LIGHT! ( not saying - couldn't
move - it must have been a mental shout) - and it worked !

The thing - the pressure- the whatever? seemed to 'go'.

It does seem to be a phenomena, I have been hearing of other people experiencing the same thing, and while i'm sure we're all aware of sleep paralysis, this is something altogether different. It's the presence of these things,that you can see, feel, hear etc that is the added dimension in which sleep paralysis doesn't explain.

As you described, the experience of mentally shouting 'light', the power that accompanies this and how the shadow spirit reacts, is all a bit weird....I dunno about you, but although it was a 'negative' experience, it was also an empowering one.....maybe these entities are here as agents of the darkness who are teaching us in a funny way about our own power, maybe they are part of a paradoxal lesson?

I have to admit it felt negative....as if 'something' - 'someone'
was trying to take you over or something.

I don't honestly know.

Maybe by summoning up Light - maybe I was, unconsciously
( remembering?) accessing a higher energy frequency that
this 'something' couldn't handle?

maybe it wasn't 'evil' - maybe the fact that it was something
strange and different led me to respond negatively?

LOL, I know the feeling!! it's an endless quest of questions which lead to many answers....intuitively you felt the same thing as what I and others have felt, there is something in this, there does seem to be a battle between light and dark energies, the shadows retreat from the light.
Which in itself is interesting, that the first reaction is to call the light, this suggests that intuitivly we know we are protected from these shadow energies.
And that fact gives hope at least!!:)

Yes I had simmilar experiance > anywho that morning I've been sleeping turned on the right and felt something behind me moving > then fell out of my (physical) body because I wanted to see what is going on > anyway fell of the bed and saw something in the end of the house... It looked at me like it got scared or something and dissapeared...

My first OBE was at the age of 10... When I was on a holliday at my grandmothers place. When trying to sleep I could look back and saw nothing but black (at nights) allways had a feeling that someone is watching me and waiting for something.

So one night this OBE happened ... I was paralyzed, and saw a hudge black cloud above me ... I felt like ok some wierd dream... Than it said ... "Don't be afraid" ... I freaked out and woke up...and said to myself "stupid dreams". This time instead of lieing on my back I've turned on the right and tried to sleep this way... That thing shwed up again and said in more aggressive voice (on the left) "Come with me". I said "No, get away"... (This talk was thelepatic btw)... Because it was still there I somehow realized this is more than just a dream and few seconds afterward it grabed my hand really really strong and then the whole atmosphere turned negative, but then I've screamed so hard that it transformed in real sound ...

That night my grandmother saw me and said that I was sleep-walking and mumbling something...

What I've learned from this is that this thing was not negative by energy but in its sharp-moving-like-scorpion black cloud like appearance. It attacked me only in the moment when I was affraid. It's like opening a door to them... But it was studying me and waiting for attack...

This photo of a "shadow being"was taken by a computer camera.The person whose home it was had some anomalous things going on and often 'felt' someonethere. She left her web camera on for a few hours,recording the room, then went back and looked through the frames. This is what showed up on a few of them. Is this the first true photo of a shadow person? Shadow people are seen by thousands of people and some speculate they're another 'species' of life that just move too fast for us to see. The paradox I was going on about in an earlier post has really got me thinking. To answer your questions about travel to other dimensions on a conscious awareness the answer is yes and these shadow spirits seem to have activated this ability.

After the first attack, a few months later i had a simular experience, wherein I found myself at a freaky party, men and women were wearing masks(bit like eyes wide shut)....they started to surround me and claw and there was something of a sucubus and incubus energy that was incredibly strong. I remember mentally thinking again, 'got to get out' and forced my physical eyes open, but was stuck in the 'dream', I tried to call out for mum, I even switched the side light on, but visually I was still inthe dream..Mum came in after hearing me and literally had to shake me to pull me out of the dream.....didn't like that at all, the sensation was all to real. I guess it was a lower plain.

After that it became the norm to find myself in lower plains, did alot of combat with demons et al, using chi energy I realised these experiences were teaching me to remember our true power.

Now it is the norm to activate the higher self when confronted by any neg's,it's the realisation when in one of these 'dreamstates' that you are literally in a true state of being, where access to spiritual power is available and this is more amplified in this state of consciousness..

So it looks as though every dark cloud really does have silver lining!!

Apparently when I was a baby I never cried.

Later I began to be aware of another person inside me.

Now I treat it as normal.

He's quite funny actually. Now that he's stopped trying to make me kill people.

Ive posted this before here but cant find it now it was amongst my first posts .As a child i heard a band marching wich was unusual in that area so i ran off to see.It was the orange lodge protestant band , the leaders often dress in the style of william of orange and twirl batons they are very good at it .The figure in the front appeared to be a bit hazy and dark as i got closer the figure was jet black with no features yet as he threw the baton up in slow motion he turned and looked me in the face and grinned despite having no face , i ran home superfast and tried to expalin to my mum who just didnt get what i meant .Years later when i returned to my body several times after being out , icouldnt recal getting out but i always remember returning fast there was a being dressed in 1930's gangster style this time trilby hat suit etc but he was the same shadow man and he grinned in the same evil fashion you have to see it to know how it feels .:D

after this experience i had a hypnotic regression years later at the end of the session he hasked as we have time is there anything you would like to review or look into i asked to go back to this figure , i was taken to a marching band and a friend of mine who had died was there and said its just your fear manifest transmute it and the dark being became light and walked off into the sunset .The friend was one o made or became reaquainted with in this life in adulthood but he was brought up protestant in northern island so it linked to the band i was brought up catholic.Another link is that he always tried to levitate and when he went into a deep state he entered a black void wich would freak him out totally .Just before he died he stayed at my flat and stayed up night after night watching the movie ghost because he thought the shadow beings where what would come for him but i told him he could gotot the light it was his choice his experience , i have had several communications from him since and he is:D fine .

Your right!! I forgot about that film!

Shadow spirits in were in it, will have to watch it again, its been a few years.

Your friend feels like a guide in this regression, his message sounds very

alchemical transmuting dark into light, fear into love, how wonderful you and

your friend help each other this way.

It's energetic evolution maybe, wherein all darkness returns to light, pain

healed by forgiveness, confronting our fears to reclaim our power

maybe the shadows are in fact a gift, a blessing in disguise.

I have a feeling we may never know, it's an experience that defines itself to

the person in that moment yet I find it facinating that many can

identify with it.

Certainly looks like the form I witnessed almost has a wispy tornado look to it

I don't think the beings, in the film, necessary represent the shadow beings, in 'real life'!
I think the film maker, knew something, about the 'shadows' - but I don't think there is a direct connection, between the shadows, in the film, and the 'real-life' 'shadow spirits' (as you call them)!

With regards to negative energy, shadows, vamps whatever name we wish to

call them I believe there is a deeper message in experiencing the fear

It is when confronted by such entities we have an opportunity to experience

our strength of mind and soul by overcoming terror, our innate knowing of the

higher energies becomes amplified and activates the light and truth of who

we are, in these moments we remember who we truly are.

The same applies when in contact with negative people who psychically

vamp others, bullies, egoic witch hunters etc

As lightworker's sometimes we need to armour ourselves in light to protect

our sensitivity, we are our own responsiblity to manage who and what

affects us.

It is a case of feeling the fear and going through it anyway that transmutes

illusion into truth

There is an energetic evolution going on and it's my belief that even the

shadows and darkness will one day be united in love and light again

There is nothing to fear but fear itself

Interesting you should mention the unification of light and dark , after several years i thought i will meditate and try and call the shadow to me and i sensed it s presence and it lay down on th bed where i was and was absorbed into me the next time i saw it it was a foggy grey colour so i seemed to of absorbed some of the darkness from it. Seems to me the Dark crystal has the same theme :D

since iwas a child when i 1st saw it then i always saw it as i woke after rushing back to my body i dont think it is similar in that way , i thought it was personal to each person who sees it , meaning something different to each one .however how does that explain the shadow on the security cam ? but if thought does create reality then what are populating our worlds with ?:D

hi sounds interesting mp3 ,did any of the shadow people wear hats ? in my experience i usually only ever recal travelling back to my body very fast being chased by a shadow being , just occured t ome the aht is very freddy kruger nightmare on elm street but the first movie was 1984and isaw the being before that and in childhhod also but dressed differently .The one occasion i recal leaving my body in great detail , i travelled up towrds space there was a stargate like structure but i fee lit was a astrologicla type horoscope map maybe my particular one and i was about to go thru when a door opened in space and a priest came out and spoke to me and said dont go thru its dangerous, this priest i remember from childhood also but i said iam going he tried to talk me out of it .Finally he said because he was good friends with my mother let me do a blessing to protect you for your mothers sake ,and i fell for that one lol ,so i went thru the door and there was the c
local church inside , next thing i woke up it was morning very pissed off.Some time later i mentioned to my mum i dreamt of the old priest and she said oh he died years ago ? :D

I have encountered shadowy beings a few times. The few times was a bit scary, but even before seeing them I was prepared anyway. So I havent had to fear them, and they seemed all the more miserable for it ;)

Well, one of them, seemed to me like a vampire. I was in New York, trying to show the world that there is more to it than what we see. I managed to lure out many different kinds of beings that exciting week in New York. Many exciting persons and people as well. Even alot of interesting famous people :) I met Johnny Depp among others. He did not seem to be having a good day though :(

Well, to get back to the shadow being part. I was trying to communicate with some of the shadow beings. I seemed to be able to focus on them. One of them even dared accept the challenge, and come close to me. He whispered into my ear from behind, I do not even remember what, and then the sun came upon me. I knew this was not something this being enjoyed so I tried looking for him. I then discovered the most amusing thing. Seems this shadow being had simply become a shadow on its own. Like the Peter Pan story where his shadow has run off without him. The shadow is simply there on the pavement of the street, and seems to be crawling in the sunlight. Trying to get under a roof to get back into the shadow. A crawling shadow! :D Whatever it was, it sure was a powerfull being. If it was a vampire, it ought to have burned in the sun, but I guess this being had become able to embrace the sun again. He was probably on his way back to the light of god, just not accepting it yet.

Another time I saw shadow beings, was a bit more scary. A young man had just died. He had done something that had endangered many people in an airport. I saw him, like I usually see the fading image of dead persons, after they have died. His ghost was there in front of me, and I was saying my goodbyes to him. Then something new happened. Something I had not seen before. I felt them come before they showed up. Shadows that came and pulled away this ghost of the young dead man. I told him he probably had to be brave, and not give in to them. As I remember it, it sounded like he was up for the challenge :) No matter what trials they would put him through, they still have to follow the rules. If he does not give in to their temptations, they cannot hurt him. If his belief in love and goodness stays strong, they will even have to let him go, and let him decide his own future.

I hope these small stories of mine can help inspire others as how to fight these shadowy beings. They are quite interresting, and sometimes even charming, when they know they cannot control you with fear. Fear feeds them, and you will be under their spell untill you find the will and courage to break the fear. I guess the Harry Potter story about the "shadow ghosts" is very true, and how a spell of a good and strong memory of love, is the best spell of turning them away :D

Also, these shadow beings you see, might actually be people you know. They might not know it fully themselves, but it is possible to dream yourself into being a shadow being like this, without really knowing it.

I think it is anyway. I just dont see ghosts, angels and shadowy beings comming to us at random. Maybe try figuring out what it wants, how it came to want it and why. Might make the shadow being scarier, but the knowledge of it can be important. If a person was the shadow being, then the person might need some help, or just a bit of attention to get back in touch with the world. If you suspect someone to be the shadow, maybe asking that person in private might be a good idea... probably not though. Best play it covert... talk with the person, and maybe see if the person can be sent in a direction that might be one of love in the way of friends or whatever that person might need. Then you might very well have helped the world a great deal by just showing you care :D

Interesting you should mention the unification of light and dark , after several years i thought i will meditate and try and call the shadow to me and i sensed it s presence and it lay down on th bed where i was and was absorbed into me the next time i saw it it was a foggy grey colour so i seemed to of absorbed some of the darkness from it. Seems to me the Dark crystal has the same theme :D

What you say is interesting, 2013 - because, when in the presense of both 'shadows' and crystals, I get this vibrationless feeling, as if Time would have stopped...!
