They can track your phone anyway,by triangulating your position.
Smartphones, like the nokia N95 i have, has built in GPS,i have a code and if whoever i give the code to puts this into a map it will track and show them my location.
Handy for if it ever gets stolen,or i loose it.

i get what your saying joe. i think the fingerprint scanner is over the top for
a phone.a password is sufficient enough. there talking about multipe people using the phone and certain parts being locked or accesed by the fingerprint recongnition.do you think the fingerprints could be sent to a different location
once there on the phone? i know that fingerprint scanners use mapping technology to identify different fingerprints and they could potentially be stored on the phone!!
heres one of the mock up designs floating around on the net.

Yea I agree its over the top too. My mate craig was going to pay £50 for one for his laptop, you use your fingerprint instead of typing a password. I said to him thats just lazy lol.
I doubt that the print could be read from anything other than an iphone,it would be like linux running windows programs,or vice versa,if you get what im saying?

yeah ive seen those before!! i think also the potential for rfid's stored in locations in busy area's to send you annoying adverts and promotions will be
highly possible.
