Wouldn't it be a good idea to introduce some mechanism in the financial markets that would allow traders to make money by punishing nations who went to war or threatened to go to war?

Money is much more powerful than wars. The problem is that today money and war often enhance each other. It would be much better if money could be used as a weapon against war. I don't know exactly how, but some clever mechanism that would allow the financial markets to make huge profits by trading against war. The financial traders around the world are a vicious and effective bunch. They would then be able to crush any war-mongering nation in no time. If a professional trader sees an opportunity to make profit, he or she would go in for the kill with brutal force. Even amateur traders could make profit this way.

there is its called an embargo,Embargo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia basically a country bans all goods/ services bieng imported/ exported to/ from a certain country but countries like the US use this on a whim and as a punishment to developing countries that dont do as they say, the trouble is america have everything they need, they have some oil, and other natural resources and are the arms dealers of the world so all war does is move money from the white house to the american based military companies, and they get to further there flag and agenda. If the UN wernt so currupt then maybe the developing countries could stick together and show the developed how much war can hurt there pocket.

Politics is way too weak to prevent wars. What is needed is the raw power of financial traders. If they had a chance to make profit by fighting against war, then even the U.S. would be crushed within a couple of hours. The U.S. dollar would be like a cow in a river filled with piranhas, and it would not take long before only the bones would remain.
