Anyone else have a poor memory?
My sister will be like "you remember when you were ten and that thing happened..." And I'm like "huh?"
I tend to only remember important things. And I have a nack of deleting bad memories, or mind fucking myself in to not thinking about sad memories by conjuring up something perverted. I can't stop myself.
I'm increasingly reading a lot, but when I'm done I only seem to remember the gist of what I just read. For example I just read confessions of an economic hitman. So hitmen persuade foreign governments to take out massive loans that they cannot pay back, and thus the country is now indebted to the US and can aid the political agenda, at the same time using US companies to build the infrastructure bought with the loans. I get that much, but I can barely remember which countries he went to, what happened in each country or any of the names of the kinds, presidents, primeministers, dictators etc.
I also find myself watching and reading so much news that I just don't remember any of it.
Any tips?
Hell you think you're bad i can't remember conversation I've had to save my life unless its a sticking point with me
I've such a bad memory people accuse me of shit I can't even remember what it I was I supposedly did! LOL! Ric Flair would be ashamed of me,lol! And I was one of his biggest fans. LOL! :p;)

Sorry, but I'm in the same boat. All I can tell you is to eat balanced so that your body and brain are never malnurished. If you have mercury in your system such as from fillings and/or vaccines, then that will be a big factor. Are you smoking pot or chewing aspartame filled gum? Factors, factors...
How are you generally though? Are you happy or are you downing most of the time? Because health has so much to do with how much you push yourself to be positive.

Huh, what was this thread about? Which is worse, to forget, or to remember? Debateable.
Drink lots of water. Hell the way it's polluted now it might as well be toilet water. LOL! :p

My 13 year old son does. His memory is so poor he forgets almost instantly.
He loses so much of his school items and leaves things behind. Its really hard not to get cross but he can't help it as he is borderline ASD.
Today he left an item on the beach and I sent him back to look for it. It was quite a walk but I did it hoping he would in future focus a little more.
Apparently london taxi drivers have a large capacity for memory as they have to remember where places and streets are etc..
How about starting with something simple like the '20 items on a table' game and working your way up?
Hopefully someone here will have a few tips

I have asked my son if he would consider a mercury detox or diet change but he isnt willing. When he grows up a bit then he may change his mind

Lots of fillings, looking around to have them replaced. I don't smoke, chew gum, my diet is pretty good (I work out daily as well). Still drinking fluoride water, although just got a distiller ordered.
I do get depressed quite regularly, but I still have inner drive for my work etc, nothing major, I've been worse.
I think it may be that I've been out of college for about a year. Despite being propaganda machines, education is great for keeping the mind sharp.
I think I may do some daily quizzes, sudoku, that kind of thing.
Maybe it's quite normal. I think I just can't keep up with all the things I want to learn. I often get worried that I'm going to fail myself lol

true story bobby, i was famous for about 15 mins once along ,long time ago. I wrote a very nasty letter when i was like 15 yrs old to one Rowdy Roddy Piper.LOL And in this nasty letter i said very mean things. Then I praised the works of one Ric Flair! I even offered to eat him up like ice cream, all he needed was a silver spoon and I would do the rest. true story,I swear. my sister would never let me watch wrestling after that because it was read over the the television. one of my old neighbors came all the way from La grange,NC to tell my sister( our mother had passed away) and she was our guardian. No fun,let me tell you. Anyway the letter was read out loud over the air and i was banished from watching wrestling ever gain while in their house! lol!:p;)

I'm on the same boat too...infact, when i'm reading a book, i'll make a habit of making notes on key points as I go along, then discussing them with family and friends, either in person or over msn.
Absorb, organize, and articulate :)

I reckon most peoples memories are false memories, and a means of creating some kind of coherent, 'sane' life narrative.
How often has someone said to you, "Can you remember when we used to always do this or always do that', whereas in reality you probably did the thing only once or twice.

ahahahaa - that happens when I see my oldest friends "remember when you..." Um, no. "how about that time when..." Um, no, don't remember that either. Sounds like stuff I would do though, but sometimes I think when people realise my memory is crap they lie to cover what they did. Oh, well, which is worse, to forget or remember. I forget.

Ha ha ha, that's great. I probably have that on DVD somewhere. I'm OCD for old school wrestling.
Flair brings the worst out in everybody.
Its is possibly on an old show called wide world wrestling or something. it was when Piper was big before it was taken over by ted turner.Sting was a newbie in the business at the time i think.

The other day I left home, but 5 minutes into my journey, realised I had forgotton the beer from the fridge (the main reason I was going out).
Drove back home and got the beer from the fridge and put it on the kitchen bench.
Went to have a quick toilet trip.
At the same point where I first realised Id forgotten the beer whilst driving, I looked over and saw the same empty passenger seat.
Drove back home and the beers were on the counter still.
Idiot.

Ha ha reminds me of a time my mate was round and we were playing a video game. It must have had us hypnotized, cos his mum rang asking if he was here and I was like "No...I haven't seen him" - she rang again... "Oh no wait, he's here" lol.

A question: someone here who have bad memory have eye problems, such as myopia? Itīs because I read that people with eye problems usually have bad memory, that thereīs a correlation.... I donīt know its only what I read...
My eyes are bad, I do wear glasses. And yes, my memory is terrible. :p;)

Check out Brain State Technologies on google, if you can afford it it might really help you and change your life.
i dunno, they never tested me for adhd or add. I just was so busy running around, they thought it was normal i guess, but i supposedly had scarlet fever once as a child and that led to my eyes being bad.

Thanks for that info.
Ģ1050 for an assessment and 10 sessions, plus travel and just over a weeks accommodation. It would be good to get feedback, from someone that has actually benefited from this.
My eyesight is good, it was really good until recently passing 40 has had a noticeable effect.
Having a bad memory is a curse!

Have you considered B-12 supplements? I have noticed a bit of improvement in the month or so I have been using it. Another poster on this forum highly recommends B-12 lozenges. I'll do a quick check and come back with the name of the brand - if I remember. :p
Edit: Here we are. Jarrow Methyl B12 lozenges. They can be found on the internet if you cannot locate them locally. I have not tried these lozenges myself as I could not find them locally and looking on the internet didn't occur to me until after I bought B-12 pills but personally I have noticed a mind sharpening effect albeit not overnight. Just be careful and don't overdo this or any supplement. Tis better to research the subject and find out if it's for you first.
In no way am I accusing you of having Alzheimer's:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2004/04/040405085355.htm
Low Vitamin B12 Is Associated With Poorer Memory In Older People With High Risk For Alzheimer's ScienceDaily (Apr. 5, 2004)
Among healthy people over the age of 75 who have the genotype associated with higher risk for Alzheimer's, low levels of vitamin B12 are associated with significantly worse performance on memory tests. This finding is published in the April issue of Neuropsychology, which is published by the American Psychological Association (APA)............story continues

Interesting fact. I'm not saying anyone has a drink problem or suffers from depression.
Niacin (B3), alcoholism and depression:
Andrew Saul talked about Bill Williams the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Bill Williams worked with Dr Abraham Hoffer MD.
Hoffer and Williams became good friends. But Bill Williams suffered from severe depression.
Dr Abraham Hoffer suggested to his friend that he took 3,000mg of Niacin ( Vitamin B3 ) a day and it helped him feel better.
Bill Williams then suggested to alcoholics, that they took niacin for the depression and addiction and the majority who tried the niacin treatment experienced great improvements.
Williams then wanted Alcoholoics Anonymous to use niacin and vitamin therapy.
The medical profession rejected that idea, and so to this day the AA does not recommend vitamin therapy.
Now where did I leave my drink?...:)

Lifes a beach eh.
MD's often - but not always - do not have a high opinion of vitamin supplements. I heard one say that I would be flushing money down the commode but I know for myself that certain supplements can create an improvement in certain areas.
