One of Scotland's top public schools has condemned a video which showed ex-pupils staging a mock "chav hunt".

"Class Wars" was posted on the internet site YouTube by former students at Glenalmond College, near Perth.

The film, which showed teenagers wearing shell suits being chased by classmates dressed as aristocrats, was partly filmed on the school grounds.

Officials have described the spoof as "deeply offensive" and said it did not reflect the ethos at the school.

The footage has now been removed from the website.

It began with one teenager in a baseball cap being pulled out of a river before being subjected to a simulated beating by a couple of tweed-wearing 'attackers'.

The film, although clearly intended as satire, is immature and deeply offensive

Another scene showed a shell suit wearing gang being chased through the school grounds by two young men dressed as huntsmen and on horseback.

They were shown being 'shot' as they ran across a field and one of the 'victims' was then prodded by an aristocrat as he lay on the ground.

The warden of Glenalmond College, Gordon Woods, said the film had been made by former pupils of the £23,000-a-year school.

He said: "I strongly disapprove of this video. The film, although clearly intended as satire, is immature and deeply offensive.

"We understand it was made almost two years ago and the pupils involved are no longer at Glenalmond.

"I must stress it does not reflect the ethos of Glenalmond or that of the present community of boys and girls studying here.

"Since it has come to our attention we have been taking action to contact the former pupils concerned to ensure that they remove the film from the website as, regretfully, this is not within our control."

great song and true, it highlights the stigma that people have labelling themselves as working class, everybody wants to be middle class. if you look at demographics, middle class is usually an uni ed/professional class. its the 50p millionaires that piss me off, i think its funny watching the shallow peeps trying to be something they are not, a pig in a saville row suit is still a pig.

see the uni lecturers/teachers/scientists/artists etc, they are middle class but do not show off with consumer goods, these are informed people. to me middle class is when a person begins to learn about art, politics/history, music, culture, travels, becomes informed, (aquisition of knowledge/experience) this is when one truly becomes civilised, the intelligenstia.

drug dealers can drive bmw's, merc's, rollers are they middle class? definition by consumption just shows the masses desire to evolve quickly by merely engaging in an economic transaction. lennon was 100% correct imho.

there should be a version where the masses hunt the progeny of robber barons who slaughtered themselves to postions of wealth, lets see what the inbred bluebloods think of that. lets hunt the great grandkids of slave owners, imperial traders, royalty who murdered/plotted. although they would have to do the hunting in germany or france, as thats were most of the upper classes are derived from/bred/married.

hence the elites plan for middle class destruction, these are the ones who can oppose the elite in an informed manner. although class structure is something i detest, being indian, i have seen the caste/class system first hand. it has nothing to do with pure hinduism, more to do with clergy and their elitest doctrines.

Well I've seen many middle class that I wouldn't consider at all dangerous but I guess I have a different definition.

Your right though, they certainly don't want to break the middle classes comfortable paradigm that everything is okay and they are in no danger of poverty, tyranny or Barrymore.

There is no one middle class, there is just a ladder and the more vibrant the 'middle class' is, the more runs on the ladder there are (to make it easier to ascend)...That's my raw philosophy of the middle class but my stereotype of them is that they are obedient tools 95% of the time and counter culture pretenders the rest but then again I am a very jealous person.
