Tattered US Flag Angers California Man's Neighbors (http://news.aol.com/article/tattered-us-flag-angers-california-mans/604857)
(Aug. 5) - It might be strange to hear that there's an uproar over an American flag that's being displayed by a Vietnam veteran in honor of his son who's serving in Iraq. But it's not who's displaying it that's got many people in a Fresno, Calif., neighborhood upset -- it's what the flag looks like. [more]God bless this guy!!!!!
More should be like him :)
God bless the USA!

Dont Hold Your Breath....
I hear this said alot by American folk, You are pinning your hopes of some sort of blessing on fictional characters.
Please dont take this personally,:) but what good has god done for you (USA) so far?
Where was he....Pearl Harbour
WWII
Iraq
Afghanistan
Waco
Colombine
911
The list goes on.....
People Bless America - Forget God!

in the beginning , man made god ... and then man made his man-made god bless his country ... kinda wacky , but hey ... we still have the right to be somewhere in a unlightened state of mind ...

Plenty of assumptive posts here, imo! :p
:D
How do any of us know what concept the OP calls God, to be commenting in this critical manner?
I know I might refer to 'God' on occassion, but to me it's a way of personifying & therefore simpifying an notion of & appreciation for the universal life-force energy.
And if I was patriotic (which I'm not particularly), I'd probably be thinking in terms of my country's flag representing my home, and my beloved friends and family who live there.
I'd feel a bit miffed at some of the remarks here.

Now he only has to realise that his son is fighting for corporate profits and actually helping to destroy America and he can then fly his tattered flag upsidedown like it should be.

Never ceases to amaze me at how uptight Americans get about their stars and stripes...that tattered flag is a great symbol of America in 2009 a country in tatters, ruined and raped but you dont see these "patriotic" flag lovers doing anything about the state of the country do you???

The real meaning of the stars and stripes has lost it's meaning.
It used to be a symbol of freedom from tyranny - breaking free from the yoke of slavery imposed by British Royalty.
Now it has become a symbol of that tyranny - some folks just haven't realized it yet, sadly.:(

It's a first step, if he learned how to walk further he'd realise it's stupid to even wave the effin flag.

if i offended ... it wasn't my intention ... just an opinion ... i am not a patriotic for the simple fact that it isn't my country ... there 's no contract written and given that states that it belongs to me ... so why should i go and fight for an idea that is just an illusion ... i do not care about a made made god or a country ... i try to care about human beings ...
peace :) :) :)
