Stewart's Reply: This is why I no longer work in LA. I have been saying this for years and years. It is imminent. The subduction zone will cause a wide area of land to submerge in the next cataclysmic event--from just south of Santa Barbara down to the Baja and east to the San Gabriel Mountains. However, the Salton Sea will then be split and open to the Gulf of California as it did as recently as 300 years ago.

I advise anyone in the area I mentioned above to get the heck out ASAP. Nothng will remain. It will be total devastation. Millions will perish, not just thousands.

The US Cities facing predicted catastrophe are ever growing. Somebody is going to be able to say.. Aha, I told you so!

People are so hung up about all these global catastrophes
As if it's something new.
Apparently, the earth's poles shift an average of four times
In a given 1million year period.
The last one was 790,000 years ago.
So we're well overdue...
Massive earth changes have happened so many times in the past

LA may be all that you say it is.. but remember the impact the media has on the people. The media is not bad, nor is LA. It's the jerks that are controlling it that are causing the problems. Let's not be too harsh on LA, rather lets work to get a positive voice in the media, and LA is the place to pitch the soapbox and to reach the world.

California Rest In Peace

Or so the song goes. A geologist in California who works with the USGS made "dire" predictions this week following the LA County quake.

She claims that there is a major quake overdue in the Coachella Valley north of LA and that this would bring a "whole new level of disaster". Skyscrapers in LA will crumble. She claims thousands will die, but it may be more like millions.

She also said, as have I, that a major quake will occur in the Salton Sea.The violent shaking will go on for at least 100 seconds, destroying all buildings in Southern California.

The Salton Sea will open to the Gulf of California as it did as little as 300 years ago. ( Remnants of a Spanish Galleon have been found in the desert there).

The subduction zone area will submerge from fracturing and liquifaction. The most dangerous areas will be from south of Santa Barbara down to the Baja, east to the San Gabriel Mountains--for submerging. East of there into the desert, flooding from the Gulf of California will occur.

It is my opinion, as it has been for a few years, that anyone living in these areas should leave immediately. This event could occur at any moment. We are alreadt seeing magma reach as far east as Arizona ( under Tucson) and microfracturing occurs daily near the Salton Sea.
