It's another one of those Daily Hate Mail stories attacking fat, lazy people.
Saying that though, healthy food is actually far cheaper than junk food gram for gram.

They need to shut up and leave people alone!

There's people who are too thin and malnourished who also cannot afford to eat properly..which leads to health problems.
JSA - £65 a week, a healthy (ish) meal for one in a restaurant etc on the cheap £7 to £10
Healthier meal £15 to £20+
Fish and chips £3:50 to £5
Food is not cheap these days. £3:70 for a box of blooming sugar puffs.
its cheaper to eat in rather than eat out all the time. besides people need to learn to cook for themselves anyway. it won't kill you. The food does that.;)

True. But isn't it also true that a lot of these obese people are also malnourished?
And, ok we all have a personal responsibilty to take care of our health, but there's no denying that crap nasty food (that is detrimental to health) is far cheaper than fresh organic produce?

I think what needs to be done is to teach people how to cook and how to shop. Healthy food isnt expensive, and i'm sorry people like that annoy me, shes had the surgery to loose weight and now shes complaining her benifits have been cut because she healthier. Come on love get a fooking grip!

without reading in, isnt this just gossip?
at least it has a grain of sence in that people should be very concerned about what they eat, and the price of REAL food.
thrash food should be banned ;)

Word!
No, they can't do that. It's how they started this in the first place. Don't you see it? They want people unhealthy so they when things like this do happen they can cut your benefits and literally starve you to death. So either way, they think they got you.

yeah saw this article..
thing is, I am on same money and I eat healthily. Its not too varied but I afford 5 a day fruit n veg, and get some wholegrains in etc
when you waste money on crap like crisps and the like, weightwatchers or not, I think someone hasnt really grasped the concept of a healthy lifestyle in its entirety
Its basically getting raw ingredients and cooking from scratch.
I don't know why for the life of me she would open herself to critisism like this...unless there was a payment to her, in which case shes been exploited for the D-R & C agenda
The worst thing they ever put in processed food in my mind is MSG< hands down!

Personally I don't think it is a lack of knowledge on most obese peoples parts it is more due to psychological issues. Honestly do you really think that woman wanted to be that big? - greed just doesn't quite cover it.

The fact that she moaning because shes lost weight and her benifits have been cut because she is becoming healthier annoys me. How can money be more important then her health? Yes she more then likely has some issues surrounding food and rather then throwing surgery at her, surely psycghological intervention would of been better, getting to the root of the issue.
But of corse that would be to complicated, just take the easy road out and give everyone sugery..........*and breath*
Still i think education about food and how its prepared is important. If you dont know hwo to shop, where to find the best prices and how to cook, then eating does get expensive. Also eating lower fat versions of crisps and chocolate really isnt that healthy and there are free alternatives to the gym
Also pp i'm not refering to everyone who is obease just this lady I knwo the situation is different for everyone.

i think thats a major conclusion
psychology
its anything, why people drink, do drugs, drive fast, hit or kill or being abnoxious, mostly anything stupid.
sort of a mind dysfunction, and we all have it just some more than others and in diffrent ways.
some is probably just normal and some is threaded over our heads by food tv jabs and social contageous influences.
kudos to you enga

with u on that, but shopping can be daunting, it like going out hunting but with more lights, people and shiney things. when i walk into supermarkets i end up in a bloody daze, theres so much stuff packed in there. and to boot they move everything round quite often to increase the time u spend trecking up n down looking for it because they know the more time u spend walking past stuff the more likely you are to buy it.
but i suppose its no excuse from bothering your ass to go to the local green grocer, farmers market or butchers seperately instead of tescos.
thing is when your poor (especially £65 a week poor) its not easy to afford seperate trips everywhere, etc.

I think you've hit the nail, its about addiction in this case and not rich or poor, i think some people have addictive personalities, myself included, i drive fast, smoke drink and genrally do stupid shit for gigles. maybe its this modern society, we've got it too good, nothing to hunt or nothing hunting us.

We need to start getting our communities together (without the interference from Councils) and discuss HOW to eat properly, cos it aint easy eating good food when just about EVERYTHING is full of toxic chemical, or has been genetically modified.

Thats a fab idea steevo, but the sense of community seems to of been lost. Everyone seems so scared now adays which is very sad, you should never live your life in fear(but thats a different debate lol)

I bet that if we posted a leaflet to every home in our community saying that we will teach them (free of charge) how to cook good food, I bet that loads of them would be interested.
First steevo, tell them to make sure they bring whatever is on the list. No crisps or sodas, either. :p

We would have the healthiest community in Britain :D
Go for it, but make sure that you have the room to accomodate everyone. :)

You're completely right!
Here is a quote from the article:
'I can't afford to buy WeightWatchers crisps and cereal bars any more
That's not healthy food!
That's expensive fad diet shite.
Healthy food does not need to be expensive.
She really didn't look like she had lost any real weight to me. get off the sodas and start drinking more water. IF you spend any money, spend it on a drinking filtration system. That will help her more than anything.

in one of my meditations with the Lemurians, they laid it out about foods being altered to be addictive. No shit
Yes it is hard, and with that knowledge we can start to wean ourselves off the crap.
This lady has had a bypass and still eats, dare I say for comfort. She put all her hopes into the op thinking this would cure her. Unfortunately it stops food, but not the emotional attactment with food. Bit like Kerry Katona...all that surgery and exercise but she didnt get to the root of it by facing her emotional=food demons.
ya know its not even emotional, its deliberate addiction by the cunts processing food. I had a contreceptive implant in that put me in HUNGER drive 24/7 [for crap food]. Through fasting and removing the thing I am now back in control, excercising and 2 stone lighter and loosing. Tho the odd down day does hamper efforts, but what I have been through the past 3year, its hardly surprising ffs.
This lady needed the whole package or Gillian McKeith to get on her case. Either that, or she is simply looking for excuses to divert her own disgust at herself or whatever real issue is going on deep inside.
its a sad state of affairs...even those who crack it convince themselves that by eating a chicken breast fillet, they are eating healthily. Yeah a steroid munching chick crawling in its own shit in crap conditions is great for your body to ingest....
