The final mystery of 9/11 will soon be solved, according to US experts investigating the collapse of the third tower at the World Trade Center.

The 47-storey third tower, known as Tower Seven, collapsed seven hours after the twin towers.

Investigators are expected to say ordinary fires on several different floors caused the collapse.

Conspiracy theorists have argued that the third tower was brought down in a controlled demolition.

Unlike the twin towers, Tower Seven was not hit by a plane.

They've got to go for the fires excuse because the only other logical explanation, avoiding demolition, would be damage from falling debris. But this would cause an uneven collapse, therefore they're sticking with the fires lie..

I had a look at this too but it is a piece from last year, it seems to have made the most read list though which suggests this one just isn't going to go away for them! I think the constant lies are cracking and more and more so-called everyday people are seeing it for the farce it is and the disgusting lack of respect for those that died. I'd love to live in a world where those responsible for it are given the consequences of their actions, fingers crossed it will happen in our lifetimes and we can see love as the real agenda.

There is if you look on the foot notes at the side of the piece it takes you to Mike Rudin's blogs, it mentions the contradictory footage but is pretty non comittal in explaining how they managed to predict its collapse!!

* In May 2002 FEMA concluded that the building collapsed because intense fires had burned for hours, fed by thousands of gallons of diesel stored in the building. But it said this had "only a low probability of occurrence" and more work was needed.

I think the most compelling part of this is that whenever I ask people I know how many buildings came down on 911 they always say the twin towers. Hardly anyone I know that doesn't have an interest in 911 conspiracy theories even realises that another building fell within itself that day. When I tell them they usually are shocked but then their own cognitive dissonance from being so blind tends to block them from invesitgating further, as they often don't want to even comprehend how sheltered they are from the truth. They turn on the TV and go back to sleep.

The fact that steel is significantly weaker at 500 degrees Celsius is a "well, DUH!" statement for physics and engineering types. After all, heat weakening and thermal expansion of materials have only been studied for a few hundred years now.

I believe Sergei Dudarev is merely offering research to help better explain why steel weakens as it gets hotter, which would be interesting to know. This research obviously wasn't conducted to "explain" why several buildings collapsed, although the article makes it appear that way. Steel, being composed mostly of iron, has magnetic domains in it, so it wouldn't surprise me that heat-weakening could be due to magnetic fluctuations due to increasing temperature.

Sergei Dudarev, of the UK Atomic Energy Agency, found that steel loses its strength above 500C because its molecules undergo a physical transition from one state to another due to magnetic fluctuations.

Do we understand one another, truthers? The research was to help explain why a material loses its strength as it gets hotter, not an attempt to explain why a building collapsed.
