There are several drawbacks with being an agent, some of which are:
1) You belong to a strict hierarchical organization. The organisation owns your arse.
2) You do get paid, but you have to obey strict rules and orders all the time.
3) You will have to operate from secrecy, meaning a constant extra burden, friction and effort is needed.
4) You cannot easily express your own individual opinions. You have to be a mouthpiece for the organization.
5) Much of the information you have to present has to be kept secret, so you cannot easily use those experiences and knowledge on the open market.
6) The organization you belong to is built primarily of past knowledge and strategies so you will have big problems coping with fast unpredictable changes.
7) You need to always be one step ahead using effort and rigid strategies which becomes more and more difficult day by day as the information society expands and matures.
