Where are you getting your metal shavings? As a ex-mechanical engineer....any place that has metal working tools/machines will have plenty of this.

Good idea! You may want to actually get in their and get your pick of some really beautifull shavings....some are in really cool spirals.I remember a girl came by our shop oneday asking for some.....co-workers thought it was odd..(i knew what it was for...lol).....she went on to say that it was for a arts project she was doing for uni.By going in yourself...you will really get to pick through some of the better swarf.

Good thinking I didnt think of it that way. Im really only making to TB's to start with, so looks not that important.
But a good idea if I was making them fancier looking ones.

£14.04 - 5KG
£33.95 - 20KG (both ex vat)
Think that beats the ebay seller, plus they are offering a 10% discount on web orders at the moment.

Is SWARF just another name for metal shavings?
Also is it supposed to be either aluminium or copper shavings or can it be 'any' metal shavings?
cheers :)

Swarf is another name for metal shavings. As far as using different metals or combinations....I have heard of these being done, but I know little on what the effects are or what combinations work best.
