CONCERN GROWS OVER LACK OF PANIC

CONCERN was growing last night that the British public is not freaking out quite as much as it was supposed to.

Thank goodness the people full of raging hormones are acting rationally
In the last week the government, the media and a range of experts have all thrown more resources at their swine flu panic inducement strategies, including a series of contradictory announcements, random, blood-curdling death tolls and a warning that Britain's fleet of ice cream vans will be needed to store all the dead bodies.

But despite their all-out efforts, millions of people across the country have decided to simply wash their hands twice a day and accept that if they do get swine flu the chances of them dying from it are so small as to be really quite tedious.

Nevertheless the department of health will today urge people to empty their freezers, stressing that is where they will have to store their grandmother until the army can collect her and throw her into a landfill.

Meanwhile the Daily Mail once again outlined its plans to go into administration after warning its readers that every single one of them would be dead by the end of August.

An editorial in today's edition said: "The department of health is saying one thing and the National Childbirth Trust is saying a different thing. How can that not make you want to rip your ears off in abject terror?"

But Nikki Hollis, a pregnant lady from Stevenage, said: "From what I understand the National Childbirth Trust would like me to continue being pregnant until the pandemic is over, but, as I told a reporter from the Daily Mail, my due date is September 14th.

"And while I am aware of the heightened risks and the possibility of feeling yucky for a couple of days, I am slightly more focused on being about eight weeks away from pushing a human through my vagina."

She added: "That said, I will continue to avoid crowded places and wash my hands regularly because I have actually worked out that swine flu is an airborne viral infection and not some sort of ninja."

Yes, it's refreshing to see that people aren't being as easily manipulated as they often are. People are usually very good at panicing in this country. I just hope that this applies to the vaccine that's being planned to be forced upon us. People must stay strong against that.

You're right about people not panicking very much - but on the other hand, most people I've spoken to at work / in family etc are absolutely oblivious to any potential danger of a vaccine. I'm sure they'll all be down there like a shot (excuse the pun) when the jabs become available.

Spot on! I have also tried to wake people up and for my efforts I am perceived as a nutter - it's so frustrating! I had one say to me recently: "So how come you're in the minority?" My Partner is a Pharmacist for a major retail company in the US. She couldn't believe it when the media/gov't etc made such a big deal out of it. The "regular flu" going around was much worse than the swine flu.

She said they were asked to stockpile Tamiflu for themselves and they are now being REQUIRED to learn how to give flu vaccinations. She usually patronizes my interest in conspiracies but this combination of stockpiling and forced vaccination training is even making her take notice.

Canada says health care workers should get it first.

hrmm I just thaught of something. They wouldnt want to kill EVERYBODY right? Just about half the worlds population. So it might be possible that some vaccines will be contaminated with a virus and some will not creating the illusion of a new form of mutated swine flue that is powerfull enough to fight the vaccine. Hi mate. You certainly sound like you need to take a break if it's affecting your relationships. Take a step back, reflect on what you have learnt. Try to understand that life is about love. What you have learnt about 9/11, 7/7 is important. Do you feel that with so much evil going on there needs to be love to counterbalance? I felt exactly the same way as you a little while back. I was stuck in a rut on trying to get people to hear what I had been finding in relation to 9/11 etc. While I had limited success with 'waking people up' I found people close to me had put up a barrier to what I was telling them and to myself in general. Eyes would roll, nervous laughs and the odd ridicule. Most people around me just didn't want to know.

So my approach had to change. I kind of realised that the only thing I could do in the grand scheme of things was to change myself for the good. I concentrated on being a better friend, a better son, a better brother etc. I tell you what, it's not easy all the time but I can tell you my relationships have improved massively. I feel closer to my family than ever and I feel tighter with my group of friend's. My mate's now actually ask me questions about things such as 'conspiracies' which I'm more than happy to share my views on.

I think if you go to people with a negative subject and a negative approach you can only get one type of response. If you can use what you know to a positive effect I think there is nothing more powerful, it's the only thing you can really do against the 'global conspiracy' but I feel it is the only answer. Love. Cliche but true.

What I'm trying to say is, it's how you react to the information you find. Nothing is learnt for no reason. Use it to try and create the reality you want. Love to you my friend.

I started this thread as a bit of light relief from the daily bullshit we hear about swine flu and other depressing news stories, so it's slightly saddening when I read posts like this. No offense to you Frase, you raise a number of valid points. I think the conspiracy community is guilty of being over-pesimistic at times, so you just have to take it on board, but not take it all literally as fact.

As flip side says: "it's how you react to the information you find. Nothing is learnt for no reason. Use it to try and create the reality you want." I fully agree with that.

Sounds like you need a complete break. Take stock of things and see how you feel in a few months. If we all went home, so to speak, we'd inevitably be forced to fight evil off our doorsteps before too long anyway. I'm completely isolated. It has good points and points. Just find what works best for you. 'Living' conspiracies is unhealthy, even if they are all true. Maybe set aside some time on the weekend or the occasional evening for the conspiracy scene? We may be stronger in the long term as a group if none of us leave completely. There seems to be a lot of full steam ahead or burnout with this sort of stuff. Just fit it in to your life as best you can. Everyone giving just a little does make a difference. All the best to you.
