Last month, Mr Allingham, born in 1896, became the world's oldest man following the death of previous title holder Japanese Tomoji Tanabe.
Mr Allingham once attributed his grand age to 'cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women'.

This Brit was one of the last survivors of World War 1, and he acknowledged war is a load of bollocks:

'War's stupid,' he told the BBC. 'Nobody wins. You might as well talk first, you have to talk last anyway.'

I watched the diamond geezer on the news this morning.

For some reason I felt choked up with emotion.

There was a great scene where he met one of his old German enemies, man them two were huggin each other like long lost buddies.

A proper man and I hope he meets up with his old buddies upstairs.

Yes its a real loss that he has died, annoyed me how at the news conference the staff at the nursing home where just using his death as an excuse for advertising, and putting words in his mouth, trying to make out that he enjoyed fighting in the great war, eventhough i bet it must have been horrible.
