IMO, I think the 12 months BS is one of the biggest cons of all time. There should be 13 months of 28 days (moon/menstrual cycle).
Definition: [Sun Signs - Solar Zodiac] Ophiuchus, the sign of the Serpent Bearer, is the 10th sign of the Real Solar Zodiac.
However, although it lies on the Ecliptic it is not one of the signs of either the Tropical Zodiac of standard Western Astrology, or the Sidereal Zodiac of standard Vedic astrology.
This problem is one of the most contentious issues in modern astrology. I know the subject of Ophiuchus causes us lots of grief as astrologers. But it's up there in the heavens. It exists. We can't ignore it.
The Thirteenth Sign? Ophiuchus is often mistakenly called the 'thirteenth sign of the zodiac' because the sign is thought of as an additional sign to the the twelve Tropical or Sidereal signs.
In fact, Ophiuchus is a Sun-sign in the Real Solar Zodiac, i.e. the Sun can be seen against the stars of Ophiuchus between 30th November and 17th December each year. [The dates of the cusps move a little from one year to the next, so sometimes they are quoted as 1st December to 18th December.] Aquarius, the Water Carrier, is the actual 13th, and last, sign of the Real Solar Zodiac.

This system would make me an Aries instead of a Bull and although I possess some Aries traits (Aries in Mars or Mercury? :confused:, Venus & 12th House) I have lots of Bull traits ...I think :confused:

I've always displayed more traits belonging to pisces than i do to aries, notably my creativity and psychic ability etc and strangely enough this "true" method makes me a pisces, although i do have some aries traits, but my most obvious traits are pisces.

Are you on the cusp or near zenith82? I don't know if that is really significant as I'm on 22nd day.

Not near the cusp i'm on the 1st. I've never been that convinced of the traits i'm supposed to have and have tried to work out an explanation but this would definitely explain it lol.

astrology is based on the earths rotation, not the moon.
there are actually 36 astro signs of 10 degrees each making up the 360 degrees of planetary rotation.
the moon affects us, but so do other star and Solar alignments.

Well I am pisces, born in february :) It says I am aquarius?? I AM PISCES going off the traits I am definitely a Pisces. Never liked aquarius

I would also suggest that astrology has been studied to death for 8000 years (12000 if subscribe to Stonehenge being an observatory)

I see, well it's all supposed to be pointers for us I guess to find 'ourselves' lol so it'd be no surprise to find the celestial charts have been messed about with to impede our progress.

That's what I was thinking. But it also makes sense that there is 13 signs, to go with the 13 moons/months.
My bday is feb 21, so that would make me Pisces according to the current system, but Aquarius to this website. What would you do?? saying that though I can link to some of this aquarius, trait.

It's not just one, there are a lot of theories surrounding the deliberate removal of a star sign and the corruption of our calender. If you look into it in detail it makes a lot of sense.

Is this for real?This is using sidereal astrology, rather than traditional tropical astrology. That's all. Nothing new. It's been used in Indian jyotish for ages. At one time your sign would have been the same in both, but it changes due to precession of the equinoxes.

You can be any of these signs ,as the moon doesnt have any light of its own.
