I called the FDA today here's what I found out.

1.) FDA is only responsible for making sure the products tested are for the designated purpose. Like a wall with a hole in the middle you shoot it with a shot gun some of those pellets (drugs etc) will eventually get through without much fight.

2.) FDA does not check for long term effects of serious symptoms initially. Therefore 30 years from now we'll all die from cancer unless the CDC does the job and doesn't hide the origin of emerging genetically modified food cancers years from now or today.

3.) FDA does not protect individuals from the likes of nefarious scientists who falsify data for big $$. Meaning there are three types of studies that may or may not be conducted. A) One, a scientist with genuine interest that wants to advance medicine. B.) Two, scientists who get paid to have a genuine interest in medicine. C.) There may or may not be double blind research studies for products.

4.) A hand full of elite scientists are expected to peer review each other's work internally at the FDA without outside interference because they are so much more knowledgeable in the field.

5.) FDA says it's the CDC's job to catch the nefarious acts of all food and drugs that have problems on the market, but there are no devices that enable the FDA to take prior restraint or post restraint usually.

6.) I need to call the CDC and find out what and how they operate when asked about why this crap science is showing up in our foods and drugs. There's a way to report and post evidence from scientists about adverse reactions, but most are shrugged off as oh well that scientist in France is just an uppity French, those La Roche guys who complain are just cute like that versus US drug companies.

7.) The FDA works as a broadcast warning system only after the fact, a lot of times it's just a big fat kid holding a finger in the dike with water trickling through during economic dinner times.

8.) If you're not already very mad yet congratulations....trust in this I'll probably have to zen myself for the CDC call tomorrow.

Have you seen 'The Future of food' ?
If not I suggest you find it on Google or YouTube video.

It a very good introduction to the way members on boards such as this are just ex-execs or chairman from the companies trying to get the products through.

Its also about Food and GM of course:)
