Seems they have added carpet glue: ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion based adhesive to the paper...to make smokers even sicker! Even ignoring the research that this glue increases Naphthalene by 13 %.

I believe the chemicals they add to the tobacco and the papers are worse than the actual tobacco itself.
If they cared about people's health they would ban these additives and only allow additive free tobacco to be sold such as Puablo or American Spirit.

Unfortunately American Spirit has also added the fire-safe substance to it's papers, if you buy the cigarettes in boxes. Only if you roll your own do you avoid the carpet glue

how many people die of fires caused by lit cigarettes compared to smokers dieing from the chemicals they put in cigarettes??
this isnt for fire safety its a death sentence for people who are stickin it to the man and continuing to smoke whilst its bieng stripped from popular culture.
In the USA they are allowed to put any food additive thats been approved by the FDA in cigarettes, even tho these chemicals produce totally different chemicals when burned.

I always had terrible problems with bad chest coughs etc. when I smoked packet cigarettes. I moved over to rolling my own in the early 80s and since then have never had any problems.
I'd grow my own tobacco if the UK had the climate for it. TPTB seem to taint everything they come into contact with, in some way or another. Nature does a great job and all efforts to imitate or improve on it seem to cause problems.

Hopefully they won't add it to the rolling papers, you can see the chemical as two bands (grey) on the paper if you hold it up to the light...

I'm with on that one Hemp Man all the way.
For social smoking it's what I'd prefer to smoke.

You can grow tobacco pretty much anywhere on the planet, even certain strains grow in the arctic!
I get all natural cheap baccy from the Indian reserves, next year I shall supplement that with growing on my balcony :)

I must look deeper into this, seriously. Would be great to have an organically grown supply.
Thanks for posting this gripit :)

(http://www.coffinails.com/order.html) They have a forum and lotsa info. Also, here is a tobacco growing forum (http://www.howtogrowtobacco.com/). I hope everyone gets on board, fuck the governments, fuck the baccy companies!
Cheers :)

I believe tobacco companies have had to change their paper burning capabilities after new laws in the US and Canada now state that cigarettes, when left to burn, must be able to go out after a certain amount of time to reduce fire risk. More H&S bollox!
I suppose it's possible that some roll your own papers may also come under this clause in the US & Canada. However, the ones I use (Rizla), seem to go out quite quickly on their own, so hopefully they can remain the same.
I'm not sure if the UK are adopting this new law yet or not, but doubt we'll be far behind.

Yup, RYO tobacco burns waaay slower with every paper I've used. My personal fav are a Spanish brand called Maiz. Corn based with an all natural glue :)

That's awesome!! I'm starting next year too :) For now, I'm pretty lucky though. I get top quality stuff, $20 (11£) for 200 grams (11 packs). Close to half of Ontario and Quebec puffers smoke Indian reserve tobacco. It drives the government nuts!! :D
