So i was sitting on my front porch steps. Smoking a cigarette. It was on the the 7th of july.. Full moon i think. Being the believer I am i always keep my eyes to the sky when i'm outdoors always tryin to see a ufo for myself.
I'm staring at the stars. and all of a sudden a star moves and disappears. I thought i was seeing things. Possibly went behind a cloud??? but all the clouds were lit up from the full moon. but that doesn't explain it moving from left to right across the sky for probably about 2 or 3 seconds before vanishing. swear to god.(even tho i don't think he exist...)
I ran in and told my wife.. She already thinks I'm crazy. She said its because we just got finished watching ancient aliens on history channel. and that i'm always lookin for ufos and i just wanted to see it.
Then i went to walmart. Star is still gone.. came back... still gone.. Then i went out for another cig and it was back.. probally 90 mins after it disappeared.
Now this is a star i see in the sky every night. don't know its name.
Am i Crazy or do you think i may have seen something?
No bashing.. I'm a nice peaceful guy.

try using this
www.stellarium.org
you can put in your location at any time and you can go to where an object is that your looking at...then you will see if it is a planets or star for sure...
if its not you no u have something else to explain
good luck.......... jay

the star i was looking at was at least 3 times brighter than any other star in the sky and all my life ive never seen anthying come close... on the picture it looks flatened but at the time it looked like 3 stars in a cluster.at the time i was driving and had to pull in to get the pics and a video. i never got home for another hour, when i finally got home it had clouded over, i had to stay up another 2 hours to get a look at it with my scope, by that time it had lost its brightness but it was jupiter

It's definitely Jupiter. It's shining so bright right now. I was astounded to find that my phone cam' was able to capture a little surface detail (check out the faint band in the pic) even under the the glare of the Moon!

Venus was really bright last winter, but Jupiter would outshine the Morning Star at this present moment.
