I'm not surprised this is happening. Detroit and Pittsburgh were pretty good forecasters for this fiasco we're currently in. The same thing is going on all over Massachusetts. I'd be interested in seeing how the Universities here are handling this financial crisis.

I may be jumping the gun here, but this same thing happened in the 20's and 30's, which later resulted in WWII. I'm hoping that doesn't repeat itself. The last thing anyone needs is for more people to shipped off to fight in wars. :(

Having done business in midtown Manhatten for years, Dan isn't exaggering. The buildings are empty. These business aren't coming back because; they are out of business. Yes, some companies relocated to the suburbs, but the majority of the companies went out of business. Lots of bankruptcies, which has a snowball effect.
I wonder if MSNBC said exactly "who" things are turning around for?
