The Prince of Wales has issued a fresh warning of environmental catastrophe, telling an audience in London "if we fail the Earth, we fail humanity".

Prince Charles said we must "urgently confront" the risks to avoid "destroying our children's future".

He was delivering the 33rd Richard Dimbleby lecture at St James's Palace, in honour of the late broadcaster.

The prince's audience included former US President Bill Clinton and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

'Enormous shortcomings'

In his pre-recorded address, broadcast on BBC One, Charles said a new system which was more "balanced and integrated with nature's complexity" was needed.

In the speech called Facing The Future, he said we were "at an historic moment - because we face a future where there is a real prospect that if we fail the Earth, we fail humanity.

The true wealth of all nations comes from clean rivers, healthy soil and, most importantly of all, a rich biodiversity of life

"To avoid such an outcome, which will comprehensively destroy our children's future, we must urgently confront and then make choices which carry monumental implications."

He said the maintenance of the world's eco-systems was directly linked to the economic well-being of nations.

"We are standing at a moment of substantial transition where we face the dual challenges of a world view and an economic system that seem to have enormous shortcomings, together with an environmental crisis - including that of climate change - which threatens to engulf us all."

He added: "We must remember that the ultimate source of all economic capital is Nature's capital.

"The true wealth of all nations comes from clean rivers, healthy soil and, most importantly of all, a rich biodiversity of life."

Charles pointed out that mankind had caused the Arctic sea ice to thin and rainforests to shrink by a third since the 1950s.

The heir to the throne has been particularly outspoken on environmental issues and in the last 12 months has visited eco-systems in Indonesia, Borneo and Brazil.

I was waiting for his pitch, and then boom, he delivered:

"Charles pointed out that mankind had caused the Arctic sea ice to thin and rainforests to shrink by a third since the 1950s."

Basically he is asking YOU to welcome his new tax for "GLOBAL WARMING"

My response: I ain't a sucka, you motherfucka.

'...a new system which was more "balanced and integrated with nature's complexity" was needed.'

More of the same. This is always the real point behind these sorts of statements he makes. Talk about the environment is just the pretty window-dresssing that gets the gullible people inside to buy the real product.

Whenever the heir to the same Empire that's responsbile for fucking up the environment in the first place comes out with this kinda horseshit, it's presents some of the most arrogantly transparent examples of problem-reaction-solution you could ever hope to see.

If he's so worried about the environment, perhaps he should start by raising his concerns with Mummy, since she's the largest private landholder on earth.

Prince Charles has a lot to lose if the climate change fiasco crumbles.

did he also talk talk talk about the antartic growing in size as the artic melts , its an oppisame , no dont think he did there is probably a shift coming but dont think we will be here to see it , our children will tho the earth is on a axis and is at an angle wich is getting further over thus eventually the pole shift will happen , why they want to fire a missle into the moon probaly to get rid of that for the gravity pull on us is imense, no moon no pull pole shift will be easier and quicker than predicted ,

No Charlie. Not mankind. Just an elite to which you very much belong.

They could have stopped the rape and destruction of the rainforests long ago, but it fits their agenda. Rape, murder and destruction were always food for the darksiders.

As for the arctic ice.... Oh Charlie boy, get a fucking clue will ya!

I seem to remember that no so very long ago Charles made another speech with a deadline to save the earth, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't this one.

The last one gave us about 3 years to save the earth I think and would have led up to 2012.

The new one is 96 months, 8 years, which leads to 2017...

Is the 2012 plan being pushed out a bit?

Like the 2000 plan?

Are the bad guys running behind schedule?

When I was sacked from Nipa Laboratories at the end of January 1998 I had been poisoned by a chemical that was beeing tested on unsuspecting human gunie pigs as a potential chemical weapon by the MOD.

But I was accused of complaceny by my boss as the excuse.

Then a team of bent pigs were put onto me to drag and slow everything down that I tried to use to bring the law into force against them.

And after they had obstructed and delayed in they pervertedly presented their actions as proof of my complaceny.

Buy do you agree that my Little Green Man thread was the first-off-the-mark thread on Charles' obscure and rambling speech last night?

It was.

Basically he is a dimbo who is trying to hide his lack of intelligence by camoflaging his pea brain by hiding in abstract concepts and little used vocabluary.

He hopes the effect will make him look learned but actually not a lot of people followed his meandering melancholy drivel.

yeah it's his mindset along with that professor Pianka's and Ted Turner's that are parasitic and viral!! Prince Phillip need not come back as a virus, he already is one and he's doing a pretty bladdy good job!!

The Prince's Trust gave me a grant & a loan to start my own business, then a further expansion loan which enabled me to buy my business premises.

Opportunities when I had no other recourse.

Lizard, nazi, satanist, or decent bloke?

When I was down & out, homeless, I found a way.
