What are these masts really for???

I am seeing these awful masts pop up all over the place. On top of hospitals near schools and on top of council flats. What is the real purpose of these masts. Mobile phones used to work without all these masts. What is going on:confused:

There's one very close to our school, which isn't a coincidence: they are often placed near schools, often quite hidden away from public view. :(

Makes you wonder, why they are pushing/forcing new technology on people that don't want or need it. :confused:

Who the hell wants the low energy lamps? How can they be better for the environment with all the plastic, heavy metals and other BS? A recycling minefield! Yet they are forcing this issue also. Why?

A connection to the digital TV roll out? :eek: Do they want everyone to be subjected to the strobe effect of the new light bulbs? Digital TV plus a handy Strobe? I duno but it sure as hell stinks.

The masts are obviously required, to enhance propagation of what ever the hell they have planned. Especially when the masts and coverage is Population based.
