okay turns out next year will be the 40th anniversary of the glastonbury festival. i haven't been for years but have been a rabid armchair glasto attendee (thanks to the bbc). the rumour has it that mick jagger was prowling round the festival this year so perhaps the rolling stones will be performing next year.

anyhows what would be your fantasy line-up... any stage ya wanna and any band/artist as long as they are not wormfood.

shall i start?

friday pyramid stage

belle & sebastian
funkadelic
mercury rev (sunset slot)
supertramp
abba

saturday pyramid stage

the cult
the cure
system of a down (sunset slot)
queens of the stone age
the rolling stones

sunday pyramid

maceo & the macks
diana ross
death in vegas (sunset slot)
depeche mode
david bowie

(strictly speaking the pyramid stage has eight slots but i cannae be arsed with the first three of each day)

course you can! btw like the idea of the rolling who :D however i think the who would prevail, townshend knocking keef out with a split-kick then windmill whilst roger flooring jagger from the side of the stage merely with a extended yo-yo of his microphone.

Yes I was there in 2000 I can clearly remember the crowd bouncing about with rays of the sun saturating everyone in a golden glow - a fantastic experience. Also remember hearing them for the first time in the dance tent the year before (I think) - 'All that glitters...' oh yeah!!

that would be ace, with or without wormfood rule! first couple of days on a beats tip with the final more rocky. the word on the street is that led zeppelin might be taking some of the dates at the o2 that jacko vacated. i'd probably plump for the doors last, never really got into hendrix though more to do with having not really listened to his stuff than not liking it... plus the doors sort of bridge the wormfood rule in that ian astbury (the cult) is fucking shithot ;) pink floyd would be epic, it is just so sad that richard wright passed on :( but still the other 3 back together would pass muster :D

nice one! stevie wonder on a sunset slot... lush and nirvana, well if scientists announced they could clone people if they started with dead rockers no doubt the great unwashed would be right up for it. so many geat artists or members of bands who've passed on- perhaps we should start a which dead rocker would you like to see cloned thread ;)

i met the sister of aphex twin, she had bought a bar and was having it done up and i wondered in with a mate who was a hanger-on with the ninja tune posse and vaguely knew her. anyhows she sauntered up to me and said "who are you?" to which i replied "my name is blah blah blah" to which she replied "no i didn't mean your name, what the fuck are you doing in my bar, it's not open to the public yet" hahaha! :D

haha! like a fool i googled "ghengis khan and the khanettes" thinking who the deuce are they? (though jus cos they don't appear on google don't mean they do not exist hey?!). john williams would be completely stonking and george formby as well... a hundred thousand people strumming along. that's the third "yay" for rush there's been thus far, shall have to google me some.

righto on a genghis khan tip, the german entry in the 1979 eurovision song contest...

Thanks for making me spit my early morning brew all over my screen, they were hilariously shit hot!! Thats just i envisioned the khanettes, you really need some rush action, id start at "a farewell to kings" all of there stuff is amazing, one of the greatest drummers known to man, lyrics that will eat you up and spit you out and they give you the words so you can sing along!!! Bloody awesome thread btw:D

shall get a lend of an album or two by rush from my local library and stick em on my puter, might be more in the mood to give them a proper listen sometime in the future, usually takes me a few listens to get into "new" tunes.

aye stargazer is ace :)

Hiya :D

Im liking the idea of multi jammin :p

DJ Paz, is a fella I saw in amsterdam, in some small random side street bar.. I'd never seen a DJ like him before, everything he put on was just spot on... and he never moved  most DJs at least move a bit with the beat.. but he didnt.. he just stood and threw on one amazing track after another now.. I was on mushies.. and had a stash of smoke the size of small bush.. im laughing.. but, it was about 10 hours after taking them.. so I still knew he was good and even ended up giving him 20quid for a cd when he only asked for 10 (feel the lurve n all that :p)

Lucky, it wasnt the shrooms, he is just really good at what he does  and I've never seen him since.. Im going back to about 2003 or 4. I've done a google, quite a bit on him if you put DJ Paz+amsterdam.. I think this has got to be him :o its a bit hazy but he had dark hair and it sounds like him (although the cd I still have is better than ive found here)

http://www.myspace.com/paz75
http://www.djpaz.net/

Nice memory

Reminds me of my friend who had gone to the bar.. got half way back to the table with a tray of drinks (we were in awe the fact she could even balance n carry a whole tray of drinks), spun round and moonwalked the rest of the way back.. totally random.. :D then we all had a go when people were least expecting it.. coming back from the loo.. buying skins... after buying the cd... that memory has made me laugh.. and.. she is on her way down tonight for the weekend :D

Happy days x
