View Full Version : Things You Should Burn Rather Than Chuck In A Bin!

We all know that the government is spying on us left right and centre. Does this include snooping on our rubbish?

Personally I’ve not given it a second though till today but what shouldn’t we chuck in the bin and just burn?

For example a ripped up BNP leaflet could show your feelings towards them. Personally I’d use it as toilet paper or confetti as I’m frugal.

So yeah what shouldn’t we put in our bins folks?

I shred as much as I can; I'm paranoid like that. Burning is the best option, but I live in a flat, so I can't really do that safely. :)

you could shred it and then put it in different public bins, others bins on bin night, etc, spread it around.

there is a million ways to get rid of anything, paper stuff , I mean.

True dat. :D

I rarely put the bins out (always sleep in), I take it to the council tip. But spreading it is good!

Another thing that alarms me is when I poo.

Where does poo go?

Ok I know that poo goes into the sewers. But would it be possible that the government pay people to go down they and put lumps of poo into a bag to go to a science lab to check what’s in it and whose poo it is if you can extract such stuff from poo!

Anyone got any ideas how we could get rid of our poo alternatively so it doesn’t get handled by sewer men!

Yeah people used to burn poo. Honestly, they did. It's even in the Bible that the people were told to burn manure for their fires, cooking and otherwise. Google it,Burning human manure and see what you can find on it.

Yep, the fireplace was often a convenient toilet in medieval houses (if you were lucky enough to have a house) apparently, and onto the streets outside if that wasn't an option. And manure burning goes on today, in Nepal. Dried Yak dung is gathered and used to get fires going in stone hut stoves. Or if the night is coming to a close and you want a gentle warmth coming from the stove for another 30 mins or so, rather than put more precious wood on the fire.

Anyway, onto the thread subject. I shred and burn certain documents, but that's about it. Nothing obsessive. Just things with addresses on, or addresses combined with other sensitive data like account numbers etc. That's as far as I go really, just to avoid my account being looted by pros. Most interaction I do with people out of my immediate life, is on the internet, and government can access that stuff any time they wanted to if they pull a sufficient reason out of the hat (and with the laws they have now, they'd find one easy enough)

I personally don't care who is spying on me nor do I care for what reason that they would be doing so - and that's making the rather large assumption that someone would be spying on me anyway.

What do I have to hide?

i know what happens to our poo...

after you've flushed it goes to a sewer farm, the water is taken out, chemically cleaned and put back into the drinking supply. The dried poo - or sludge- is given to farmers to spread on crops. so, yeah, if you're eating vegetables, you're eating other peoples poo.

Alternative? fling it out of your bathroom window!

I reckon putting it in water, ripping it up and flushing it down the toilet would taske care of whatever it is!

I am not worried about the govt itself going into my bin, they know everything anyway, it is people that are 'identity thieves' that go through bins, and get old bills, accounts, etc, anything to steal your i.d.
I make sure stinky things go on top of any torn-up stuff. Left-over food, ashtray junk, all make a lovely stink for the ID thieves. :D

The Chinese use human manure extensively, they call it 'night soil'. It is applied in a very dilute state, and apparently after 48 hours it has decomposed to it's basic chemical components, thus is no longer 'poo'. This does make sense, putting back into the soil what has been taken out, buuuuut, the sight of crop fields covered in shreds of toilet paper is something you have to firmly put out of your mind when you next sit down to eat...

In Goa toilets are little huts with a chute out the back where the free range pigs gather. Funnily enough, I never tried Goan sausage, a local speciality.

I have heard of "night soil" , and it is used a lot in asian countries, and if it is a hot and windy day, phew,... very stinky for westerners who aren't used to such things .
Michael Caine mentioned it in his book, I think.

could it be healthy to breath that?

and YUK, i think, ewww.

I use to smash my old backup CD's before I throw them in the trash can. I know that the trash is likely to be burned up anyway... Often, burning trash is being used to heat up buildings, and since most of the material of a CD is plastics, they should literally just go up in smoke.

I use to save almost every envelope in A4 format, and I use them to sort out my different papers and scribbles. I want to keep them and not throw them away.

You should value having privacy!! (Who cares if your not doing anything)

Why should I extend personal energy into making sure that people aren't looking through my trash when a) I have no reason to believe that people are and b) they aren't going to find anything useful anyway...?

I mean, seems like a waste of energy to me, causes a lot of needless stress for defending some "principle" that we aren't even sure is being attacked.

Also, burning poo? What the hell?

I won't do that to my microwave oven... I use it for food.
