To resolve serious debt problems I can immediately call on the services of panels of:-

* insolvency practitioners,
* accountants,
* solicitors,
* bailiff intermediaries
*
adverse lenders,
*
suppliers of specialised business finance
*
negotiation specialists.

Unsecured bank loans, credit card debts etc. can be regarded as a very low priority. In their absolute greed, the banks have lent vast amounts of money with scant regard to the borrower's ability to repay. Most are very careful not to damage the feel good factor by instigating aggressive collection procedures. You will note the television programs detailing the action of bailiffs that have upset a lot of people are connected only with the non payment of fines, parking tickets and council tax.

Debt Collectors
If the debtor is not a home-owner most banks will rely on commercial debt collectors. These odious organisations will bombard the debtor with meaningless threatening letters (e.g. Mr. C. Green will be visiting you at 8PM – rubbish – he does not exist) and endless telephone calls (expect up to 20 per day from each creditor). The letters can be dealt with by throwing them away unopened and the telephone calls by changing your telephone number. If you are determined to keep your existing telephone number these calls should always be answered with the simple word “NO”. Never admit your name, telephone number, age or anything else. When the debt collector calls just say “NO”. Given this treatment most debt collectors will return the debt to the bank as uncollectable. This cycle will repeat itself several times until the debt is finally written off.

Great post my friend!!! Much peace and love will find you out for this one......especially the stuff at the end about the bailiffs returning the debt to the bank as noncollectable. We have had a similar experience of Barclays making no further threats or taking any more money from us without our permission. I can't wait to see how their debt collection dept plans to collect on a contract they can't show us????!!!!!

I think the important thing is that we have not had one threat of court action as yet......but I don't see that as an option for them as they know we know they haven't got a leg to stand on without shwing us and a judge a contract.....

They have stopped their incessant telephone calls after about 2 months of calling twice a day since Sal informed them that continued written demands and calls will be ( with regret she specified in the letter!!!) treated as harrassment under sects 1 & 2 of the Protection from Harrassment Act 1997
( all recorded delivery of course...)

This seems to have done the trick with the phonecalls....the last lady to call before they git this particular letter was gutted when she warned me that the phonecalls would continue if I kept responding the way I did and I said..."no problems...it's you guys paying the phone bill" you should have heard the desperation and frustration in her voice!!!

Thanks again for the OP.....good stuff....:)

Peace folks....
