ATLANTA - Health officials estimate that as many as 1 million Americans now have the new swine flu, although only about 28,000 cases in the U.S. have been reported to the Centers for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Lyn Finelli, a flu surveillance official with the CDC, voiced the estimate at a vaccine advisory meeting Thursday in Atlanta.

people are getting the flu, as sometimes peeps do even in summer and they are being written off as swine flu thingys :rolleyes: and then X that by ooooer...loads....

it is actually a disgrace all this

not one pig dead, people always get flu. even the description of this flu symptoms is the same as of a normal flu... how will people actually buy this? it is beyond me. Stupid, ridiculous... of course it is engineered, it is a great solution during a so called" economic recession"...bastards...

A million isn't actually that high a number for a country like the US. Given that the offical lab tested and confirmed number of cases exceeds 30,000 and that it has been acknowledged that they were only seeing (hence testing) less than 1 in 20. Also remember that they stopped testing, in most cases, (except serious cases and deaths) some time ago. They also know that of those tested, more than 98 percent of flu like symptoms have been confirmed as H1N1.
In a way, it is good news that the number is this size - given that there are more than 3000 serious cases in US hospitals right now and over 130 deaths.

...and they have ceased preventing the contamination,but the "good news" is
they have massive supplies of Rumsfeld's Tamiflu to treat the unaffected.
