I wonder if anyone can recommend something for poor sleep? Have tried all the things like Kalms, the various herbal mixes for sale in the chemist, having a hot bath with lavender before bed etc. None have really seemed to help.
Can anyone suggest anything please?

number one herb of all time. weed. legal depending on where you live/ whether you know your rights as a free being able to express themselves without being told how by someone in power.
will help immensly. for a non smoker as little as one toke on a spliff can be more than enough. best of luck.
many other herbs aswell but i doubt any are as effective

Valerian Root Capsules.
2-3 of those 5 minutes before bed. Helps me feel drowsy.
Helps me sleep more deeply. I always seem to dream more vividly when I have had them.
You can pick them up in any health supplement store, such as Holland and Barrett if you live in the UK.

I mean, something which is sure to knock you the fuck to sleep without fail is heavy exercise for an hour, 5 hours before you want to sleep followed by a big meal including alcohol (preferably ale/beer etc.)
you will sleep but this is by all means not the healthiest and/or best method of sleeping and neither is it going to be the best quality/type of sleep achieved.
Make sure to avoid exercise/increasing body temperature (via showers baths etc.) 4hours or so before you want to sleep.

Years ago, when i was clubbing every week, i used to use Nytol when i couldnt
sleep.
They dont work for many people, but for me they did.
They do a natural version, which (for me) was a bit weaker, but still worked.
Nowadays if i ever need to be knocked to sleep (which is rare) i'll either have
a couple of shots of Corvousier Cognac (dunno if thats spelt right)
Or half a 2mg diazepam (i got a few from my dad months ago...he was throwing
them away)
Diazepam is very powerful (i think it is valium actually..not sure) 2mg is more than
enough for me. I have 1/2 (1mg)
The thing is though, you can become dependant on nytol, and diazepam, after a while.
I took nytol for a couple of months most nights, then stopped.
Not had one since mid 1990's
Can become dependant on diazepams too, but ive only done those a few times. In extreme emergencies.
They make you feel a bit zomby ish the day after too.

find a bus and get on it lol, they always make me sleep.
Or watch something you have seen hundreds of times, or that is really boring. Try to stay awake and you'll fall asleep quicker.

that is true, anytime i am on the sofa, i fall asleep, but if i go to bed for a nap i wont sleep. !!!
The other thing to try ( which i havent tried yet myself) , is something called
"Rescue Remedy" it is something that is from Bach Flower Remedies, you can get it in any Health Shop.
I have some, but i usually fall asleep quite naturally from drinking booze, that makes me quite sleepy!!!
and i have good dreams.
Like the others here said, a good drinky will make you sleepy!
editing to add, avoid sleeping pills, anything from big pharma, yuk!

Kratom is an excellent natural alternative to pharms, as is Kava. They're just as effective if not more so, imo.
;)But best of all is poppy pod tea. wins hands down..

whats causing you to be getting 'poor sleep'?
Not being nosey, just many things do different things, if you know the cause then you can do something which will be effective for you!

Bachs Rescue Remedy. You can get it in boots. It all natural too :) Failing that maybe a smoke? No caffine? More exercise?

Try the Old Testament. But seriously, I used Kalms, but it seemed to make my lethargic for the next day too, so now... I... smoke. I think I'll try some of the other suggestions on this thread instead though. :D

Listening to Alan Watts always puts me to sleep, otherwise try melatonin tablets they seem to work well for some people.

valerian root capsules definitely! two usually do the trick but if i want to be knocked out bad i'll take 6
i also started making my own capsules and added catnip to them, that really makes me fall asleep hard zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
but the most effective methods of ALL TIME: Planet of the Apes or the Godfather series *hears boos from the crowd*
good luck *runs away*

That does it for me too. Melatonin is good if you don't take it all the time.
