"A Kind Of Blue" by Miles Davis, was released in 1959. This four times platinum album was voted number 12 in Rolling Stone magazine's "Greatest LPs Of All Time" poll.
I'm a fan of Miles' music and all the fascinating changes it went through. David Bowie is often cited as the original musical chameleon but in the music field, Miles Davis set the precedent, I believe. :)

Kind Of Blue is a must have. Blue In Green has some of the best changes EVER and many have covered that quintessential ballad. Gone are the days when record companies actually paid musicians to rehearse. also, the remastered version has been bumped up to A = 440. I used to have to retune my guitar to play along with the vinyl as well as the first issues released on CD.
