A cage is not the natural habitat of a gerbil, they should be allowed to run free around the desert and burrow into the ground like the tunnel digging creatures that they are.

I had a gerbil, Si Yue (Chinese for 'April') in April 2008 for 17 day, then it died, despite the fact that I took very good care of her.
OR DID I? Probably not, gerbils belong in their natural habitat.
