I don't think its all roses between them...

But the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson, at Camp David, says Mr Brown did nothing to return those personal compliments - even referring to their meetings as full and frank, which is normal diplomatic code for an argument.

I think that's going to be the offical 'spin' between these two. We can't have another PM sucking up to dubya, so the media will go all-out to create 'tension' between them.
Yawn

'On The Road', To quote a phrase from your link: "Camp David: what's changed?"
Answer: absolutely nothing. The Real powers that be (above governments & Presidents) are still up there calling the shots. PM's & Presidents are put there to convince the great unwashed that we are 'free' & live in a democracy; -f**k - we voted for them, didn't we?
New face/es, same old story.

They couldn't agree on who would bend first.

Did we though? Doesn't the last Presidential election put doubt on that? Isn't there more and more evidence of fixing?

If they are selected rather then voted in, but public opinion cast doubts on their great plans they will go to any lengths to ensure selection even resorting to fixing rather then relying on votes alone.

Democracy is surely just another illusion? The illusion of choice or free will.
