Just wondering how many of you have used cannabis as a medicine as opposed to recreation. I had a history of recreational use in the past which actually just screwed me up...anyhow..I have been searching for some alternative healing for mental problems such as meditation, yoga, whatever. The thing is, none of it really worked that well..though some heavy meditators might blame me for lazyness or lack of method..but I smoked a bowl of cannabis the other day and realized that the state it puts you in blows away the meditative states ive been and really gets you in tune with your body.

So I just thought I'd put this as another alternative that even some people in the conspiracy scene still seem to have stigmatized.

great thread!

Personally I use cannabis recreationally every day, some days i smoke more than others and i almost exclusively smoke it through a bong.

I am a semi-pro fighter and I have also used cannabis as a painkiller for injuries and for headaches (although I've not had a single headache since my atlasprofilax treatment).

I would say half of my training sessions are when I'm high and it definately helps me relax and therefore recover faster. I also won my last fight high, video on youtube for those interested :)

Im a weed smoker. not every day, just at weekends or if ive got to do manual labour like shoveling horse shit all day. I find it helps when i need to excersise too. far from making me a couch potato weed helps me move and do things.

But i dont smoke it with tobacco which makes me ill.

I am a regular user.

I have quite a high tolerance though. I smoke more to relax after adays work than anything else. Plus I find the social aspect very pleasing.

I can see great benefits in it's use as a medicine. I mean, it's been around for a hell of a long time. And to be honest it was put here for a reason I think. Just like those frogs that the shamens in South America lick to contact the spirits :D

The weed which is about these days tends to have a much higher THC content. So the newer breeds of plant can be pretty 'heavy'. I blame this for screwing people heads up. I think the milder more 'natural' weed with the lower THC levels can benifit you alot. It doesn't wipe you out and isn't as strong. I know alot of people who become pretty messy with the strong stuff. Especially when smoking most days.
Its an amazing plant not just the bud for the THC. But all the other uses some call it the miracle plant. You can make rope, clothes, paper (much more per acre than wood!), contains really good protien and essential oils. And so on! A plant for the people!

Anyway thats my imput ;)

Use it nightly to wonder deep in my thoughts. Good anti-oxidant, too. Damn I'm stoned right now. 2litre aqua lung hit. :D

It is just like alcohol, the higher the volume the less you drink, the higher the THC the less you smoke. It's interesting to know that the quality and availability of hashish has declined whilst skunk has become the smoke of choice, what they don't tell you is that the hash back in the 60's was as strong as the skunk today.

I believe that making this purely beneficial multipurpose source illegal is one of the greatest acts against the divine forces of the universe. People have have starved in Africa when they could grow their own food easily, people have been killed for oil in Iraq when we should use hemp based oil and people been locked away for smoking/growing a plant, whilst the elite created crack and ship in heroin from Afghanistan.

Do you use it to help with your meditation or instead of ? I was just wondering if it hinders or helps the meditation process. I would imagine that it would make the mind more busy?

I'm a beginner at meditation (so I know very little about its benefits) But from what I can it helps with meditation immensely. It also increases visualization.

Robert Anton Wilson was a big advocate of yoga/meditation + Cannabis to achieve expanded consciousness.
