Hello all,
I want to pose a question to you and want your feedback on it's legitimacy as well as your personal triumphs in this type of internal energy healing.
Also if there is another suitable thread please let me know:)

I am a little over weight (about thirty pounds), otherwise OK health wise. What I am doing now is monitering my calorie intake for the day; my size I am allowed about 2000 calories and I never go beyond 1500. I can't seem to shake the weight and I am pretty active and my job has me climbing ladders, lugging equipment, etc.
At night before I fall asleep, I try and focus my energy into my stomach area and using my mind I'll direct the energy to burn the fat off. I can hear the giggles already and I am aware that this may take time, but it's a mind over matter thing. I believe a person has control over their bodies albeit with discipline. I have been experimenting with this technique with varied results. I find I get a good sleep and am energized in the morning, but it hasn't been that long to see any real results I am looking for yet.

What are your thoughts and experiences on this. Feel free to talk about any illness or situation you have in mind over matter healing.
I look forward to hearing from you.
CS

By the way, I'd love to hear about cleanses and detoxes as well, looking at trying something, what do you recommend.....

What seems to be more important than calories is the actual food itself. You should eat a balanced diet of protein, vegetables, and quality complex carbs like brown rice. Do not skip meals, and a light breakfast will keep your metabolism up. Most of all avoid toxic food additives like MSG, caseine, aspartame, etc., and no junk food or soda. You can do some google research on harmful food additives because the list is too long for a forum like this.

In another thread I decribed a technique that has worked well for me for years. That is, do not mix complex carbs (rice, potatoes, pasta, etc.) with sweets like sugar and fruits in the same meal period. When you do that you are overloading your body with two different fuels, and it will store the excess as fat even if you are counting calories. Your body does not know that you are going to get another meal in 4 hours, so when you overload it like that in one meal period (the total time between meals) it will save the leftover for future famine.

I think your before sleep visulaization is a clever idea actually and I would keep that up. I would also start doing yoga. I had a Counselor suggest that to me when I was in rehab after a traumatic cardiac event. I was hesitant at first thinking it wasn't a manly thing to do, but now I'm doing it and it's great. It feels good to get stretched out, and it is supposed to help detoxify your system. It;s also really easy. Just get a high rated book off of amazon. The calming routine I do only takes about 10 minutes before bedtime.

I am not an expert on cleanses, but I have used the following products with some success.

http://shop.bokusuperfood.com/detail_BSC12__23.html

Amazon.com: 4 Total Cleanse Kit - 120 - Capsule: Health & Personal Care@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31haOKbPhJL.@@AMEPARAM@@31haOKbPhJL

Both of those companies are very careful with their ingredients and seem to genuinely want to provide people with good products. Boku grows many of their own ingredients on an organic farm in Hawaii. I also use their Superfood product in smoothies.

I hope that helps.

like motley said it is not the calories that will get your bodfy to regulate your weight but the quality of your food

quite simply, drink more water
eat less carbs (but do not cut them out)
eat more vegetables and be sure to eat a variety
exercise will help you feel good and stay focused

as far as visualisation, keep it up! It is something I do a lot of the time, not just at night :D

Actually, you might need to eat more. I know my own metabolism would slow to a crawl on 2,000 calories.

It's the cells within our bodies that aren't getting the right nutrition none of the food we eat is truly pure anymore.

The only things that I have heard of that causes someone to lose weight were drinking a vitamin supplement called herbalife formula 1. If you find that to expensive then gorge on vegetables about 40lbs worth in a day. You literal have to force yourself.

A big yes to the visualization. It's the mind that controls the body. You talk to it and tell it to burn the fat because you want to use that energy. Only trouble is that the fat cells might have toxins in them and you will feel the effect of it, once they are used.

Thanks for the input guys,
I received my blood work results today and my cholesterol is at 7.5.
It's time to start eating more veggies and meats and less carbs I think.
I did count calories and it may have included junk in there too, as long as I didn't go over my 2500 calories.
I need to eat more than once or twice a day and make it a habit. Mornings I am never hungry and lunch slows me down.
Thanks for the tips, I'm off to the grocery store...

You definitely must eat 3 meals a day. I have a very fast metabolism so I can skip one no problem, but I always feel better when I have at least 3. Since you are trying to lose weight, skipping meals will cause your metabolism to slow way down and you'll have to eat less and less calories just to break even. I suspect that is why you are having trouble even tho you are very active. If mornings are too hectic then get one of those meal replacement mixes and fix yourself a shake with something like almond milk. You can down that on the way to work.

Keep up the good work. You can do it.

Hello all,
I am a little over weight (about thirty pounds), otherwise OK health wise. Last 30 is the hardest to lose, trust me ;).

What I am doing now is monitering my calorie intake for the day; my size I am allowed about 2000 calories and I never go beyond 1500.

I trust you know what you're doing, that sounds awfully low though.

I can't seem to shake the weight and I am pretty active and my job has me climbing ladders, lugging equipment, etc.

If you're not eating enough at regular intervals throughout the day your metabolism will slow down in response to perceived starvation. Working hard on an empty stomach feels good but don't do it all the time. It will also plummet your testosterone levels.

At night before I fall asleep, I try and focus my energy into my stomach area and using my mind I'll direct the energy to burn the fat off.

This works.

It's been proven that thinking about exercise actually burns calories. Proof enough that your thoughts do matter.

You don't need anyone else to confirm this, just keep it up man.

Be more like the bear in your avatar!! (love it btw. Also... go NW!!)

I don't know how people can't be hungry at breakfast :p it takes about 10 minutes or sometimes an hour for appetite to kick in but it is important to let it happen once or twice. Your breakfast is your biggest allowed calorie intake for the day, eat as much as you want it will be gone by bedtime!

As far as being sleepy after lunch - I experience the same thing. Have a good sit and just relax for a bit. See if you aren't just eating lunch and then hopping back to work. That throws a big wrench in digestion and just makes the fatigue feel worse.

I've also heard around here the cooked food makes a person way more tired than something cold.

Hey thanks for the info.
You know what I don't like? cooked veggies. I can eat crisp peppers, carrots, rutabagga (spelling), pumpkin, all day long. Much more refreshing and tasty. I have no idea why people, my family included feels the need to cook most veggies. Heck, I even like the taste of raw cabbage better than when it's cooked.
I am going to lay off the carbs for a bit and sweets. My usual lunch may be a Mars bar and bottle of water:rolleyes:

Anyone had any luck with cleanses, my sister lost a ton of weight fast with one.
There was a couple posted already and will look into those...

Hey Motleyhoo,
So how do I find out my metabolism type?
Should I be eating meat and veggies and lay off carbs?
I am 5'11, and weigh in at 220. My frame holds it well but at 36 years, my knees are getting achy and I want to give my body it's independence back.
I miss jogging.

I lost 40 lbs from just basically laying off sugar and dairy products and I am on vitamins, nutrients and my lovely Colloidal Silver

Silver is the greatest and I make my own for pennies and its a wonder mineral water. You will be full of energy and heal up so many different things.

I was bed-ridden, overweight and hated life because I had none !

I am up and moving all over the place now and without pain

the food we have no choice to eat (if you are poor) is killing us and putting weight on our bodies rediculously at a fast rate. it sucks

Good luck

Hello :). Any questions on cleansing fasts, you can PM me if you'd like. I've done juice fasting from 3-day up to 40-day, but this topic is a bit controversial :p. My favorite juice fasting range for weight loss is around 8-10 days. IMO that is when the maximum weight is lost and kept off, and it doesn't take horribly long to resume normal eating again :). IMO the longer duration fasts are helpful with detox and general health, but should be approached with caution. Metacomet is right, the last 30 pounds will be the hardest to lose! In my experience juice fasting is the quickest and healthiest way to make a dent in that.

Apart from that, I want to say congratulations for thinking of the visualization techniques for burning fat! I think the mind can do more for you than any diet. I've experienced that it CAN work. For instance, I had read a report on Andy Pero and his use of silva mind control techniques to "tell his muscles to get bigger". I thought about that, and at this point had some weight I wanted to lose. I thought, I wonder if I could will myself to lose the weight??? The next day I discovered that I had no appetite. I thought that was strange, and found myself about to prepare meals just because the clock said it was time to eat . But since I had no appetite I figured I might as well do a detox fast until I got hungry again. This lasted for 21 days and I was able to take off all the weight I wanted to.

My theories on fat storage memory:

I believe some of the most detrimental things we can do to ourselves (esp after we have lost weight) is keep our "big clothes", or to picture ourselves being uncomfortable in tight clothes, think you are overweight, feel guilty after having dessert because you just "know" it will make you fat, etc- IMO these are all mind states that are keeping you overweight! As David mentioned in Freedom Road: have you heard of the aura pictures that captured the energy field around a leaf? After the pictures were taken, a part of the leaf was cut off, but somehow the energy field surrounding the leaf appeared to be the same, both before and after, as if the leaf were whole. Or if someone loses a limb, they can still "feel" sensations in that arm or leg for a while after it is gone. I think this is because their subconscious hasn't registered that it's gone yet, so the auric field retains the memory of the limb. Now to weight loss: I believe in like manner, that when we lose fat, our minds have not registered that we are no longer overweight, and we continue to maintain the auric field of an overweight body (through thoughts, consciously or subconsciously), which causes our bodies to just wait around to get the pounds back on. I believe the best way that you can combat this is to tell yourself that you are no longer overweight, and you will never be big enough again to fit into your overweight clothes... eating food is healthy and should be enjoyed, not provoke fear or guilt...constantly project the image of a thinner you. I believe this will manifest in time, in your appearance as well as your energy field.

These are my own conclusions on weight loss, I have not found this anywhere else, but I have a lot of experience, as well as coaching others to lose weight with success. There are so many angles to weight loss, how do you know which one will "work"? I believe that you, with the help of your mind power, can decide what will work and what will not. :)

For good scientific information on how and why we gain and lose weight, I highly recommend Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. I do not recommend the cheap disinfo knock off versions or the low fat versions! Atkins totally knew what he was talking about, and supplied more than enough case studies to support his conclusions. If you read the book in it's entirety you will find out that most information on weight loss is disinfo. He also goes into the problems that YEAST cause, in health and weight loss, that IMO is crucial for everyone to know. Yeast almost has a mind of its own, and when you CRAVE sugar, that is not you! That is the yeast! But that's another topic, and I have a policy about not making my posts too long :o. Oops too late :p.

You will do it northwest :).

feel guilty after having dessert because you just "know" it will make you fat, etc

Yes this is a bad one that most people do.

Reminding yourself that what you're eating is simply a treat and not a forbidden jewel of cosmic pleasure or something :p People tend to enjoy food a lot more (and maybe even store it better out of reward mechanisms in the bodies hormone system) when it is taboo... and that, like most things, can be a self inflicted response.

We all love doing naughty things but to do them casually is much better than going wild with abandon... (we're talking food here).

I believe the best way that you can combat this is to tell yourself that you are no longer overweight, and you will never be big enough again to fit into your overweight clothes...

I agree! If we don't acknowledge we are acceptable at some point we are more likely to behave unacceptable. Alot of people punish themselves through mechanisms of guilt and subconscious retrieval of trauma in their life(s). This is also a diagnosis for people with various eating disorders or addictions and mental illnesses, etc.

Always be wary of your thoughts! Biblegirl has done a beautiful job explaining that.

I miss jogging.

If you put weight on easy, or cannot take weight off even tho you're active, then your metabolism is prolly lower than normal, assuming you're not eating whole cakes or boxes of donuts everyday.

IMO, carbs are not necessarily a bad thing. It depends on the type of carb. A few red new potatoes, or some brown rice, or whole wheat pasta are good carbs and contain vitamins and nutrients that we need. It is really important tho not to eat processed food or foods that have certain additives like excitotoxins (please google that). You should also do a google search for how the food industry hides these additives in harmless looking names in ingredients lists. Get used to reading ingredients lists on everything before you buy it. I am so used to doing it now I don't even realize I am dong it.

I really believe that a lot of the most common ailments - obesity, heart disease, diabetes - are being caused by foods that lack nutrient value (non-organic food), and synthetic food additives. If you don't get these things out of your diet first you'll never make any progress.
