Yeah pretty irrelevant thread but I would just like to give a message of peace and love to all :)
nuff said really we are all one and one is all
we NEED to stand united and fall united that is how we will overcome these aggressors
to all the people I have disagreed with peace :)
and to all the people I have made friends with a little more peace :)
to this whole forum peace and love and unity

"Peace and love to all", is a quaint sentiment, but an idealistic pipedream, unless "all" reciprocate, equally; but of course, THEY DON'T and never shall.
"Love", by definition, is a strong emotional attatchment to something or some one, IN PARTICULAR; so to love love all, is to love none.
"Peace", by definition, is an absence of conflict; but unless those with whom you conflict with, are prepared to cease hostilities, also, then you are unilaterally surrendering.

It just grates upon me....the happy-clappy, new age, airy-fairy, head in the clouds, utopianism of so many people, here.

We're dealing with an extreme case, and such individuals can be dealt with within a society without hatred towards them.
Has every person you do not have love for raped your wife or burned down your home?
Even if such an individual did such a thing and I personally delt with him in vengence, that doesn't justify me holding ill will towards his brother, or child.

Life is worth projecting the _ideals_ of love and peace, because even if those goals are unattainable, life must intrinisically have worth, to be worth living.
Does it have meaning, or not? And if not, why do you bother? Think about it.
Perhaps your lack of a sense of meaning, is the real reason this irks you, and you are so angry. Its proven scientifically, that we need a sense of meaning and belief, some sense of community and some sense of freedom - to be happy.
If you think in terms of "the real world", your missing the point. Its up to you to find what joy you can in the world, not up to the world to serve it to you on a platter.
