Nope, though I will go there someday, like I will go to every country some day.
All that I know about Slovenia off the top of my head is that it borders Italy, uses the Euro and has a cool flag. :)

I spend a fair bit of time in Slovenia and have been visiting the country for many years.

I mainly stay in and around Koper/Piran, Postojna, Bled and occasionally beyond Novo Mesto in the beautiful Oak and Beech gallery woodlands.

I LOVE Slovenia, it's such a diverse country with so many major biomes represented. One can spend a morning up in the mountains around Bled experiencing the breath taking alpine plant communities while being bombarded from the air by Yellow Billed Choughs

before driving to Piran and spending lazy afternoons swimming in the Adriatic & eating fresh seafood while Bee-eaters buzz you from their perches.

I'm really afraid that the so-called progress the EU will bring might scar the pristine wild nature of the landscape as traditional farming methods are replaced by the intensive agricultural model pimped by Brussels. However, there are a lot of good ecologically aware civil servants in the Slovenian administration who've managed to secure solid agreements from the EU on CAP.. so.. hopefully Slovenia will retain it's awesome heavily wooded wild nature, alpine meadows, Mediterranean coast, Karst and lowland woodlands for many years to come.

I would like to live there one day.

Thankyou sooo much Them for a 'normal' answer to my question. Have only been on this site a few days and, so far, am not that impressed! Was inspired to 'enlist' after seeing Monsieur Icke in Zagreb last week...
I know I'm being a bit presumptious, but doesn't anybody on this site actually listen to what Ickey says...
Went to chat a few times and, basically...there ain't anyone really there, apart from a few students seemingly using the forum as a substitute for the phone...
Thankyou for the beautiful pictures that you posted...Part of the big appeal of why I live here, although, I have to admit that the government here seems to grab every piece of red tape and make it as red as they can do...
The gorgeous Soca River is crawling this year with 'inspectors' checking that everyone has paid their euro's for the privelage of being on it....
So thrilled to be somewhere with sooo much woodland though...What a luxury in today's world eh....
Biological diversity, birds, butteflies.....My 'Consciousness' reminders...
Once again...thankyou....
