View Full Version : Swine Flu in Oz

Over 50 cases of the dreaded swine flu now reported in Australia. Mainly in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
At least one private school shut for a day when a student had been confirmed to have pig flu.
Now, another 15 student confirmed with pig flu but "apparently" confirmed after working at McDonalds.
We'll just wait and see if Macca's goes into damage control. It seems to my delusional mind they are monitoring our reaction. Or maybe McDonald's are the sauce (pun) for this pig flu thing.

...yes,there is a case 45 minutes up the road in Port Macquarie. The patient was found in Perth, after a flight from the US.Now they flew them around the country to here...I'll try and find a link and post it later, this is just what I got from skimming over the NBN News.
...I heard the Australian strain,is a slight variation from the outbreak in Mexico.I'll keep an eye out, already discussed talking to the children about staying home from school for a while, which was greated with all support
indeed.

...EDIT:...very sorry, the story revolves around a P&O criuse ship in Sydney Harbour,it was Jodi McKay,the Labour parties tourism member, that has been confined to home quarantine, after a visit to LA...

Yeah, what's up with that cruise ship named 'Pacific Dawn'..where have I heard that name before. Anyway, they get a couple of confirmed tourists with pig flu, kick them of the boat, then allow more tourist's to come aboard and now they depart. WTF?
Friggin pig flu is running rampant in Melbourne. But tamiflu shots is gonna do fuck all! They do not have a vaccine as yet. Maybe a can of cokacola will kill it.:D

Yep, seems to be a "new dawn in the pacific". Ofcourse I'm being paranoid.
..but fuck they're pushing this shit. Heard something funny on the radio, apparently if you get swine flu, one of the symptoms is showing signs of good recovery. (go figure)

Yes the govt is pushing the fear in aussie like crazy.
"Expect it to double in the next 24 hours " the tv said, ha!
There was one doctor on the news who said it isnt any worse than any other flu and you will recover in 5 days. I dont know the doc's name, I wish I remembered, . i remember i was amazed they let him on tv.
so the scare tactics are back again, only no-one is really interested in their bull , so that is great.
The passengers who got off the liner were irate that they weren't told they could be carrying it and are now so-called quarantined in their houses.
( how could they not hear about it, it has been in the news for at least 2 months or more now?)
there is nothing to fear unless you take the jab.

But one poor copper is,up in Port Macquarie,if they pull me over locally,I'm going to scream and carry on,get it away from me,you're infected...
but if all cops get quarantined...ANARCHY,ANARCHY...I'm taking the HR for
a very quick spin:D

Gold/Antelope Premiere 186s (bored stroked balanced 218cu)...you'd like:)

Oh my, I forgot about powerglide, it's been so long. However, when you say low 14's, I also think, well, it's got to be a six but I read on and a 186 bored 218cu is gonna be quick. My bro had a torana 186 bored all the way. It was frightening fast. He is such a pussy that he had to sell. Thank god my other bro bought a capri v6. Loved stealing that bitch on the weekends when he went out on the turps. Loved Dandy drags. (flash backs)

Yep, just announced on the fear mongering news. They also said "people are expected to die". Yeah well, people die every year from the common flu. But they're going hard. Tomorrow will be into fifth gear I reckon.

Powerglides scream hard,if you set them up right,my last one was full of stress fractures, due to sitting on 120mph+ for an hour straight,I got from Port Macquarie to East Maitland in 1 hour 20 mins,of a 3 hour trip...3am in the morning, needed to go to the toilet....I reckon with the supercharger,I'll get between 10seconds and 12s,depending on the diff and gearbox ratios.
She was running 2.78 banjo,but going 3.08 next,which will knock the time down.Only running a 35/75cam,but the head...pure magic.But looking for an
X2 block or 186s...I need the meat,202 cranks.I love the Torrie's,dads old
LJ,crap,could'nt hold it straight,completely sideways...powerglide as well.I got
3 of them, selling two...you're in Newcastle way...I'm just a little north of you.
We used to have it good hey friendinthesky...
I am a little paranoid about this oncoming pig flu.I smoked for years, have a few problems from last time I was sick, bleeding out the lungs...if I catch this,I might not survive it...I still have'nt 100% recovered. So,if some post come off as defencive...now you know why...I'm worried,my kindest respect to you sir,Jason.:)

I'm in Melb btw. So your prone to infections, I can undestand you being paranoid, don't let it get you down, no one has died and if they do, it'll be an elderly person who would have died from the usual winter flu. keep yourself healthy and take deep slow breaths. Try alittle yoga or tibetan 5 rites. And pop spirulina tablets. Think positive.
