Hmm this is probably the most puzzling of these I've seen to date. Most of them have an obvious bright light causing all sorts of effects on the eyes of the person, and the camera. This one does not appear to have any overly bright light sources though. It's hard to brush this one off. I'm going to watch it again a few more times for anomalies.

Edit: after watching this a few more times, I think it looks more like shadows and reflections casing the pupil extension effect. I think this because the pupil looks a little irregular shape-wise beyond the normal pupil range. Midway between the pupil and eyelid, I believe to be the reflection of the camera, camera person, or both. Above that where it seems to get a bit wider, I believe to be a shadow from her eyelid.

It could be what you think it is. I can't say my conclusion is correct, but that's what it looks like to me.

It's a lighting effect.

The giveaway is the way that the effect stays vertical as she tilts her head. If they were real slit pupils, they'd tilt with the head movement.

Also, not sure why a reppie would be commentating an athletics meet. :D

Look at the highlight on the bridge of her nose. What do you think that is - a stray road traffic marking? :rolleyes:
