I had the (mis?)fortune on Saturday night to be mixing with some of the UKs 'nobs'. I was at a castle conducting a paranormal investigation and there was a birthday party taking place in the castle. It was the son of the Baron who owned the castle who's birthday it was.

During ciggie breaks and such we mixed with each other outside and I got talking to various Viscount Wotsits and Lady Hawhaws about the paranormal.

Now, although they were interested in what we were doing, they were generally on the whole very sceptical and based a lot of their argument against ghosts and goblins on their very strong Christian beliefs. Very strong.

I found this a little strange. Now whatever you or I may think about ghosts, I'd have thought that they it would have been the other way round - I didn't think they'd be so religious and certainly more open to otherworldly topics.

Oh - they also enjoyed runinng around the castle naked - dunno if thats linked ..

Any thoughts?

Yes, they're probably programmed.

Once upon a time William Mac was sought out, and trained up to be the youth pastor of one of the largest churches in the southeast United States (in Atlanta). It's true.

Yet, I relish my time as a scrutinizing christian, and even more that I saw the things I did, for this church was rather charismatic, and not so dully traditional.

I saw a friend who was born with Pigeon Toe (his feet were turned inward, and he couldn't walk right, also this was a curviture of the spine) who, while praying for his grandmother, was healed. This isn't something I heard, the mother fucker was a friend of mine, he's fine now, he can run and walk fine. There are medical records, and pictures from before and after. He said it was a like he was standing in front of a heater, then he was just fine.

I've seen a number of other strange things. I mean... tons. Yet, the church chalks it up to angels and demons.

A ghost is a demon. That is the explination for them.

As far as the REALLY conservative and traditional Christians are concerned, they are simply born into a belief system against their will, most of the time. From birth they are taught that "this is right, this is the one religion" so really, they don't choose this stuff on their own. They are indoctrinated, they are taught bible versus, and most of them forget those bible versus. And barely any of them really research the bible and what is says, in order to see that time and time again there are examples of "ghost" if you will or "demons" as well as many examples of incarnation.

No, they simply don't know what their own religion is. However, because of their indoctrination, they believe that the world and it's oddities, or inexplicable phenomenons, can be explained away through their inherent belief system; the likes of which they don't even usually practice, except in the traditional "go to church" or "communion" aspect of things. So, to them, ghosts and goblins are unholy spirits, that could be demons fucking with you, or they're simply unsaved souls in purgatory, or something to the like.

However, if you give some examples of the arguments they posed, I can definitely tell you why they said things. I'm quite versed in the Christian religion and subsequent denominations, actually. Which I'm very proud of, because it helps me explain things to people better, and understand Christians better.

OK,
