So I haven't shaved in a week.
Been to busy and can't be bothered.
So My beard, as patchy as it is, is coming in.
And wierdly it makes me feel 'better.'
Does anyone else get that, when the beard is there you feel more like 'you'.
Or is it just me?

Yes i agree, it's good just to let it grow for a while somtimes. I feel it's more refreshing, shave. Also letting a beard grow for a while's good for the skin to.

mine is a bit patchy when I let it grow.....
its crazy how we are conditioned to think that we need to scraper a razor sharp blade over our faces every day..... not exactly good for the skin.

You're a good lad. I love our billy. He's a top bloke.
Yea I am one of these people who always has a goatee but I'll let my beard grow until the end of the week and then shave it. I cant be arsed with all that daily shaving crap that's bad for your skin anyway.
Although if it gets too bushy I get itchy and I hate that!
I also keep my hair long, although jut got it trimmed last night. I dont like short hair on me, so boring lol.

Having a beard is natural - shaving isn't. Simple.

I have grown a full on set of mutton lamb chops , I'm having relentless piss taking and odd looks in the street but I love it.
People are questioning my sexuality but can't figure out how I'm walking around with two kids.
Some people just look at the ground , some are smiling in an uncomfortable slightly amused way.
I look like wolverine except with the mustache as well. I will post a pic on Have a laugh. Its really coming on nicely in the last week. Needs a trim up but not urgent .
Beard growers I say unto you. Go forth and get hairy.

I always like to keep a bit of facial hair on the go, it adds character. And fuck the people that say "A man with a beard has something to hide" they're just jealous cause the can't join the beard club for whatever reason! :p:D

I'm still at the phase of the hair being kind of like new grass poking through the earth and saying 'WTF is this all about then!'
Its all a bit wibbly, hasn't really found its feet so to speak.
My wife is looking at me like I am a tramp, which makes the whole exercise so much more rewarding.
I reckon I'll keep it going, see if it actually comes through and passes as a real beard.
How long should it take?
I haven't ever gone more than a week without shaving since I started getting facial bum fluff.
Is there anything special I need to do, rubbing salt on the face and putting a glass of water by the bed I believe is an old wives tail, even if the hair got thirsty enough to creep out of the chin for a drink, how would it pick up the glass!
And if it could I certainly don't want a beard with hands!
Tips and suggestions welcome.

If your serious about keeping it I would suggest buying the grooming kit. I allways trim mine back to a grade 1 with a pair of clippers the first few weeks.
THis will thicken it up and make it look fuller. Finish off the grade 1 with the small clipper for evening it up.
Then I suppose once its thickened up let it grow a bit and trim it back to a grade 2. Keep grooming it once a week is enough.
Be ware , the mrs will hit the roof when she see's all that hair in the sink. Make sure you dispose of it .
^^
Agreed, when my ex hubbie would trim his, he would put a paper towel or newspaper in the sink to capture the hair. That way it would not go down the sink and eventually clog it up.

I have a beard, I keep it trimmed. I also have longish hair. I prefer a bandanna instead of a hat, and when I wear it, I get "those" looks. Bandanna, beard, longish hair.... triple threat. Potential terrorist/psycho. :D

95% + of our lives is unnatural!!!!
(Don't ask me what the 5% naturalness of our lives is 'cause I'm still thinking about what that could possibly be)

Beards do make me feel at ease. I don't know why but I guess it's because I don't have to put that nasty cream on my face or whatever.
I've got a bit of a beard right now and I don't know if I should go school with it tomorrow  What do you think?
And I used to have one last year too :)

However, in many circles, women who love the bearded man seem to be in the minority. Women seem rather to put up with beards in those they care for. It's great to see some that actively support the bearding process. Three cheers for natural body hair!!

I've had a goatee for years and love it- I look so strange without it and can't go back to being clean shaven. I grew out a full beard before and with my long hair, I looked like some kind of viking. I outright refuse to shave chest hair- probably take me a whole day to get rid of the stuff anyway. lol.
Let out your inner vikings men. Grow the facial hair.

you don't get spots under a beard, its kinda wasted cos you can't see that you've got lovely clear skin underneath. but who cares i love my beard. i shave it off every few months but look like a 12year old boy, its not good i'm 27. beards are great and anyone who says different probably can't grow a beard.
