I used to have two white rats. They were free to roam about. Great creatures... quite similar to dogs. The animals I've known could laugh, cry, empathise, show appreciation, think, make rules for themselves, share... allsorts. Anyone who thinks otherwise is thick or lacks experience.
When the one rat was about to die... the other knew it and kept US company whilst its mate succumbed. He didn't last long himself after that.
