why are drinks or food made by 'pharmaceutical' companies?

Am a bit busy at the mo, but the obvious ones that spring immediately to mind are:

Pringles (made by Proctor & Gamble)
Marmite (made by Unilever) oh but I just love the stuff!!

Colmans sauces- made by unilever

Flora margarine- Unilever

Knorr Sauces- Unilever

Also thought i check out 'Benecol' products as this is acholesterol reducing product and low and behold- they are owned by Mc Neil Nutritionals LLC - a division of Johnson&Johnson.

Hi ripe4change. Thanks for pointing that out, I was under the impression that Unilever was, but I stand corrected. However, I've just googled pharma co's & found that P&G are infact listed as one, here's the link which shows companies alphabetically...

ok i apologise for making false claims- Unilever it seems is NOT a PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY!
(although they do make a range of personal care products)

It;s good to get facts straight before posting.. There are newbies lurking on this site who will be put off by false claims immediately.

I totally agree with what you're saying about getting facts straight. But we are all just expressing our own individual thoughts/opinions on here (& admittedly it sometimes doesn't happen to be 100% correct;)), but I doubt if newbies would really be put off by that. This is just my opinion of course & you are just as entitled to yours too, lol!! :D

Two New Zealand schoolgirls humbled one of the world's biggest food and drugs companies after their school science experiment found that their ready-to-drink Ribena contained almost no trace of vitamin CProbably because they are hopefull ppl will become ILL and have to spend $$$$ to get better! (All pharma companies are like this)

And isnt GLAXO one of thes ones who were involved with the H1N1 stuff??
